Meeting Between the Ta&#8217;ang Liberation Council (TLC) and Mandalay Region Transitional Political Framework Development Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 12, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ta&#8217;ang Liberation Council (TLC) and the Mandalay Region Transitional Political Framework Development and Coordination Committee held a virtual meeting via the Zoom platform on July 12 to discuss matters related to political framework formulation and coordination during the transitional period, according to an official release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendees included members of the TLC, its administrative team, and committee members from the Mandalay Region Transitional Political Framework Development Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting began with TLC representatives sharing the background of the formation of the Ta&#8217;ang Political Consultative Committee (TPCC), its subsequent transformation into the TLC, and the drafting of a transitional government plan for the Ta&#8217;ang region. Participants engaged in an exchange of views and held a Q&amp;A session on the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following this, the Mandalay Region Committee presented their transitional political framework drafting process and shared a draft proposal. Representatives from the TLC actively participated in the discussion by asking questions, offering feedback, and engaging in the exchange of perspectives and suggestions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>2. Formation of a Committee to Establish the Independent CDM Civil Servants\u2019 Organization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 12, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the directives from the second CDM Civil Servants\u2019 Conference, a committee has been officially formed to establish the \u201cIndependent CDM Civil Servants\u2019 Organization\u201d and implement the outcomes of the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee comprises 50 members selected from among CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) civil servants across various sectors, with initial formation representing 60% of all CDM delegates. It has already begun executing its mandate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee is working to engage representatives from the remaining sectors and broaden participation across diverse layers and professions. It has also strengthened collaboration with the CDM Success Committee to ensure the initiative becomes a truly representative body of all CDM civil servants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its formation, the committee has begun tackling the eight tasks assigned by the second conference. It has organized working groups to efficiently fulfill these duties within a short timeframe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the interim\u2014prior to the establishment of a permanent organizational structure\u2014the committee is coordinating with relevant revolutionary and governmental bodies to protect the interests of CDM civil servants in areas where urgent support is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, efforts are being made to foster the formation of CDM civil servant groups in various regions and to reinforce existing ones. To this end, the committee is engaging with regional CDM committees and organizations across states and regions, providing assistance and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee has also announced its intention to convene the third CDM Civil Servants\u2019 Conference in December 2025, during which the formal establishment of the \u201cIndependent CDM Civil Servants\u2019 Organization\u201d is targeted. CDM civil servants are invited to actively participate in and support this initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>3. Ta\u2019ang (Palaung) National Party Denounces Junta\u2019s Election Plan as Illegitimate Attempt to Seize State Power<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 12, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ta\u2019ang (Palaung) National Party has issued a statement rejecting and denouncing the military junta\u2019s preparations to hold a sham election, asserting that such efforts represent an unlawful attempt to seize the sovereign power of the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This declaration was made during the party\u2019s six-monthly Central Committee Plenary Meeting, held in a liberated area of Ta\u2019ang region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The party further stated that the so-called \u201cPeace Forum\u201d organized by the junta is merely a fa\u00e7ade and cannot bring about a genuine resolution to Myanmar\u2019s internal conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the party condemned the junta\u2019s inhumane war crimes and crimes against humanity and urged the international community to swiftly take action to halt and hold the perpetrators accountable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement also expressed full support for the transformation of the Ta\u2019ang Political Consultative Committee (TPCC) into the Ta\u2019ang Liberation Council (TLC) and pledged active cooperation in the &#8220;Ta\u2019ang Interim Revolutionary Government Program&#8221; led by the TLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ta\u2019ang (Palaung) National Party affirmed its commitment to working in solidarity with the people of Myanmar to eradicate the root of the authoritarian regime\u2014the common enemy\u2014and to realize the ultimate goal of the revolution: a new Federal Democratic Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three-day Central Committee Plenary Meeting was held from June 27 to 29 and was attended by 60 participants, including Central Committee members, Executive Committee members, and observers. During the meeting, they reviewed and amended the party\u2019s constitution and handbook, passed official resolutions, recorded proceedings, and outlined upcoming strategic plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>4. Over 2,800 Civilians Arrested in Six Months Under Junta\u2019s Conscription Law; Over 6,100 Myanmar Nationals Arrested Abroad; 324 Civilians Killed by Heavy Weaponry and Executions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 12, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Spring Revolution Database, the junta\u2019s military forces arrested&nbsp;<strong>2,876 civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;in Myanmar between January and June 2025 under the pretext of enforcing its conscription law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of those arrested:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1,306<\/strong>\u00a0were taken from rural areas,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1,298<\/strong>\u00a0from urban areas,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>260<\/strong>\u00a0while in transit,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and\u00a0<strong>12<\/strong>\u00a0during roadside inspections and forced removals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports indicate that&nbsp;<strong>2,633 civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;were arrested during the daytime, while&nbsp;<strong>243<\/strong>&nbsp;were detained at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To avoid forced conscription and seek employment opportunities,&nbsp;<strong>6,175 Myanmar nationals<\/strong>&nbsp;were reportedly apprehended after illegally crossing borders into neighboring countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The breakdown is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1<\/strong>\u00a0person arrested in China,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3,177<\/strong>\u00a0in Thailand,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2,944<\/strong>\u00a0in Malaysia,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>53<\/strong>\u00a0in India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the junta&#8217;s violent operations have resulted in the deaths of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>17 civilians<\/strong>\u00a0through brutal torture and execution,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>83 civilians<\/strong>\u00a0through arrest and immediate execution,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>160 civilians<\/strong>\u00a0from junta artillery shelling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover,&nbsp;<strong>64 individuals<\/strong>&nbsp;died in prison due to various killing methods, including&nbsp;<strong>1 civilian<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>63 political prisoners<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>5. Kyaw Min Zaw (aka \u201cPutee\u201d), Who Escaped During Drug-Related Arrest, Voluntarily Surrenders to CDF Hakha<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 12, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kyaw Min Zaw, also known as \u201cPutee,\u201d who had previously escaped during an anti-narcotics operation carried out by the Chinland Defense Force \u2013 Hakha (CDF Hakha), surrendered himself on&nbsp;<strong>July 12 at 3:40 PM<\/strong>&nbsp;by contacting Deputy Commander Ko Pho Lone of the People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF) in Salingyi Township, according to a statement by the Salingyi Special Task Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He had fled during an operation targeting narcotics traffickers. CDF Hakha had earlier released a public statement dated&nbsp;<strong>July 10, 2025<\/strong>, revealing that Kyaw Min Zaw had misused an endorsement letter issued by Battalion 15 of the Yinmarbin District, bearing the signature of the battalion commander, in order to engage in drug transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigations into the misuse of this endorsement and related drug trafficking offenses are ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>6. Funeral of Renowned Writer Maung Thachyo Held at Yayway Cemetery<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 12, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funeral of prominent Burmese writer and former political prisoner&nbsp;<strong>Maung Thachyo<\/strong>&nbsp;was held on&nbsp;<strong>July 12<\/strong>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<strong>Yayway Cemetery<\/strong>&nbsp;in Yangon, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite heavy rain beginning early in the morning, the funeral ceremony held around&nbsp;<strong>3:00 PM<\/strong>&nbsp;was attended by a large crowd. Hall 1\/K was completely filled, and many more mourners lined the entire stretch of the main road leading to the crematorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maung Thachyo passed away in the morning of&nbsp;<strong>July 10<\/strong>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<strong>Pinlon Hospital<\/strong>&nbsp;at the age of 68. He had been diagnosed with cancer during his time in prison, where he reportedly did not receive adequate medical treatment. After his release, he had to undergo prolonged medical care for the condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the military coup on&nbsp;<strong>February 1, 2021<\/strong>, Maung Thachyo was arrested alongside politicians and activists. He was charged under&nbsp;<strong>Section 505(a)<\/strong>&nbsp;of the Penal Code for incitement, based on an article he had written for the&nbsp;<em>7Day News Journal<\/em>&nbsp;back in 2017.
