On the morning of July 11, 2025<\/strong>, a military aircraft<\/strong> from the terrorist junta launched an aerial attack from Tada-U Air Base targeting the Lintalu village monastery<\/strong>, where war-displaced civilians had taken refuge in Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region<\/strong>. The People\u2019s Ministry for Human Rights under the NUG<\/strong> reported that the airstrike killed 22 civilians<\/strong>, including three children<\/strong>, and left more than 50 injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry noted that since June 17<\/strong>, heavy clashes between local defense forces and junta troops had been ongoing near Sagaing Township<\/strong>, prompting more than 10,000 civilians from seven villages<\/strong> to flee their homes and seek safety elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The July 11<\/strong> airstrike specifically targeted the Maha Thitsawadi monastery<\/strong> in Lintalu village, where approximately 200 displaced persons<\/strong> were sheltering. Nearly 30 people were killed<\/strong>, and the death toll may rise further due to the severity of the injuries, the report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The junta’s continued attacks against civilian populations, even during the Vassa season<\/strong>\u2014a sacred period for Buddhist devotees known for its religious observances and merit-making activities\u2014highlight its blatant disregard for human life and cultural values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Union Minister U Aung Myo Min<\/strong> remarked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn July 11<\/strong>, at the very beginning of the Vassa season, a sacred and respected period for Buddhists, the terrorist military committed yet another heinous attack against Buddhist civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By launching airstrikes on Buddhist monasteries and Dhamma halls, where people practice virtue and seek refuge, the junta has made it unmistakably clear that it holds no respect whatsoever\u2014not only for Buddhism but for any faith.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 3:00 a.m. on July 11<\/strong>, a jet fighter<\/strong> deployed three bombs in an aerial attack near Kawli Hotel<\/strong>, Kyaukme Central Police Station<\/strong>, and the District Police Office<\/strong> in Kyaukme Town<\/strong>. According to a statement by the TNLA (Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army)<\/strong>, the strike killed one man<\/strong> and injured five others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The explosion resulted in the death of one male civilian<\/strong>, and injuries to one woman and four men<\/strong>. In addition, four houses<\/strong> were damaged due to the blast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
