AA Controls Over 93% of Rakhine State Territory, Provides Support to at Least 23 Armed Groups

July 10
Radio NUG

The Arakan Army (AA) has gained control of over 93% of the territory in Rakhine State and is actively conducting operations to establish full control over the entire state, according to a report by ISP-Myanmar. Since early 2025, the AA has expanded its military operations beyond Rakhine State into Magway, Bago, and Ayeyarwady Regions.

The report states that at least 23 armed resistance groups, which emerged after the military coup in 2021, have received varying levels of support from the AA. This support includes weapons, logistics, and military training—either in part or in full.

These groups are reportedly conducting military operations in approximately 61 townships across Myanmar.
