KNLA Joint Forces Seize \u201cThuka\u201d Military Camp on Thai\u2013Myanmar Border<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 8 \u2014 Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA)<\/strong>&nbsp;and allied forces have successfully seized the&nbsp;<strong>Thuka Military Camp<\/strong>, located on the Thai\u2013Myanmar border within the&nbsp;<strong>Kawthoolei-administered territory<\/strong>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;<strong>Karen National Union (KNU)<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Myeik\u2013Dawei District<\/strong>, according to an official statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Thuka\u2013Masottan Defensive Camp<\/strong>, which had been manned by approximately&nbsp;<strong>30 junta troops<\/strong>, was gradually encircled starting in late June. By the time of the final assault on&nbsp;<strong>July 7<\/strong>, all junta personnel had reportedly&nbsp;<strong>fled across the border into Thailand<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seizure operation involved the coordinated efforts of the&nbsp;<strong>KNLA\u2019s Battalion 10, 12, and 27<\/strong>, as well as the&nbsp;<strong>Dawei People\u2019s Liberation Force<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>Student Revolutionary Force<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>Thagara Column and Drone Unit<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Drone Commandos from Bawthoo Army<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Drone Commandos from the Way Hin Unit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Thuka Camp is located in&nbsp;<strong>Lu Ei Taso Township<\/strong>, formerly the district capital under KNU\u2019s Myeik\u2013Dawei District. It had been overtaken by the Myanmar military in 1997, after which&nbsp;<strong>Light Infantry Battalions 22 and 282<\/strong>&nbsp;had maintained a presence there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;2. Five Junta Soldiers Killed in Drone Strike Near Milepost 318, Nyaung Htoke Gyi Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 8 \u2014 Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A junta unit stationed near&nbsp;<strong>Milepost 318<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Nyaung Htoke Gyi Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Myingyan District<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mandalay Region<\/strong>, was attacked with aerial bombs dropped from&nbsp;<strong>fixed-wing drones<\/strong>, according to a statement released by&nbsp;<strong>Battalion 8 of Myingyan District<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 8<\/strong>, junta forces stationed at&nbsp;<strong>Htein Phala Pagoda<\/strong>&nbsp;in Nyaung Htoke Gyi deployed troops to carry out a covert operation. These troops were subsequently attacked by&nbsp;<strong>Shwe Htoo Waw fixed-wing drones<\/strong>, which dropped precision bombs on their concealed positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the bombs exploded directly at the location of the ambush team,&nbsp;<strong>five junta soldiers were killed<\/strong>, the report confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operation was carried out jointly by&nbsp;<strong>Battalion 8 of Myingyan District<\/strong>, along with&nbsp;<strong>Battalions 2 and 3 from Meiktila District<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;3. Junta Supply Convoy Attacked with Landmines Near Yaysakyo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 8 \u2014 Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A junta supply convoy consisting of&nbsp;<strong>10 civilian vehicles<\/strong>&nbsp;was attacked with landmines while transporting military rations near&nbsp;<strong>Yaysakyo Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Magway Region<\/strong>, according to a statement from the&nbsp;<strong>People\u2019s Defense Force (Pa-Ka-Fa) of Yaysakyo Township<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The convoy was reportedly carrying rations\u2014originally delivered by over&nbsp;<strong>20 military vessels<\/strong>&nbsp;via the&nbsp;<strong>Chindwin River<\/strong>\u2014intended for three junta battalions based in the area. The rations had been offloaded near the office of retired military officer&nbsp;<strong>Nyein Zani<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 7<\/strong>, the rations were to be transported using commandeered civilian trucks, which had been assembled and parked near Nyein Zani\u2019s office. Junta troops then drove the convoy themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately&nbsp;<strong>6:00 PM<\/strong>, a group of&nbsp;<strong>five anti-personnel mines<\/strong>&nbsp;was detonated from a concealed location near junta ambush points as the convoy passed. One truck was&nbsp;<strong>heavily damaged<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>casualties were reported<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Detailed information on casualties is still under investigation. Four Junta Troops Killed in Landmine Attack While Lying in Ambush in Nganzun Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 8 \u2014 Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Nganzun Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Myingyan District<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mandalay Region<\/strong>, four junta soldiers were killed in a landmine attack while lying in ambush near a unit that was clearing landmines along the&nbsp;<strong>Myothar\u2013Gway Kone road<\/strong>, according to a statement released by the&nbsp;<strong>Naga Nyi Guerrilla Force<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 6<\/strong>, at around&nbsp;<strong>6:00 AM<\/strong>, over&nbsp;<strong>200 junta troops<\/strong>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<strong>Gway Kone Base<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Myothar Base<\/strong>\u2014using local civilians as human shields\u2014conducted a demining operation aimed at clearing landmines previously laid by&nbsp;<strong>Naga Nyi Guerrilla Force, Myingyan District Battalion 3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the risk of civilian casualties, the resistance fighters had to temporarily withdraw and allowed the junta forces to remove about&nbsp;<strong>10 landmines<\/strong>. However, two&nbsp;<strong>pressure-triggered mines<\/strong>&nbsp;had been deliberately placed in a separate area further away, where a separate junta unit was stationed in ambush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These two mines were successfully detonated, killing&nbsp;<strong>four junta soldiers<\/strong>&nbsp;and seriously injuring&nbsp;<strong>two others<\/strong>, according to the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;5. KNDF Battalion 08 Commemorates Four Years of Resistance, Honoring 21 Fallen Fighters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 8 \u2014 Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) Battalion 08<\/strong>&nbsp;marked its&nbsp;<strong>fourth anniversary<\/strong>&nbsp;of armed resistance against the military dictatorship on&nbsp;<strong>July 8<\/strong>, declaring that its fight has been sustained through the&nbsp;<strong>support of the people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a commemorative statement, the battalion announced that over the past&nbsp;<strong>four years<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>21 brave fighters<\/strong>&nbsp;have made the ultimate sacrifice. In addition, many others have been wounded or suffered life-altering injuries during the resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement expressed&nbsp;<strong>deep reverence and gratitude<\/strong>&nbsp;for all fallen heroes and those who lost limbs, vowing that the remaining comrades will continue the struggle to the end. MBT Announces Successful Production of BT-16 5.56mm Assault Rifle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 8 \u2014 Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 8, 2025<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT)<\/strong>&nbsp;resistance unit announced the successful in-house production of a&nbsp;<strong>BT-16 assault rifle<\/strong>, which uses&nbsp;<strong>5.56mm ammunition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The newly developed&nbsp;<strong>BT-16 rifle<\/strong>&nbsp;is already in use by MBT troops in active combat zones and is expected to be deployed further in upcoming operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MBT stated that the rifle was&nbsp;<strong>jointly developed<\/strong>&nbsp;with the allied group&nbsp;<strong>Royal Brother Defence Force (RBDF)<\/strong>. The groups plan to continue manufacturing&nbsp;<strong>advanced small and heavy weapons<\/strong>&nbsp;in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each BT-16 rifle costs&nbsp;<strong>3.5 million kyats<\/strong>&nbsp;to produce.
