NUG&#8217;s Position on the Illegitimate Sham Election<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 3<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On July 3, the National Unity Government (NUG) issued a statement clarifying its position that the illegitimate military junta\u2014currently attempting to seize state power unlawfully\u2014has no authority or legitimacy to organize any election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NUG emphasized that the results of the&nbsp;<strong>2020 general election<\/strong>&nbsp;remain politically valid. The legislative and administrative bodies that emerged from that election continue to stand firmly as legitimate entities. Any attempt to organize a sham election that contravenes the will of the people constitutes not only a breach of democratic process but also a blatant attempt to usurp the sovereign power of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This stance was highlighted in&nbsp;<strong>Message to the People and the International Community No. 13\/2025<\/strong>, which firmly condemns the junta&#8217;s actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NUG further noted that, since the&nbsp;<strong>Committee Representing the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH)<\/strong>&nbsp;officially abolished the 2008 Constitution on&nbsp;<strong>March 30, 2021<\/strong>, any action taken by the military regime under that now-defunct Constitution is entirely devoid of legal standing and legitimacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NUG made it clear that the military junta&#8217;s upcoming sham election is&nbsp;<strong>not a viable solution<\/strong>&nbsp;to the country\u2019s ongoing crisis. Revolutionary forces will continue to adhere to the Federal Democratic Charter and the established political roadmap, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the Federal Democracy cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NUG urged the entire public&nbsp;<strong>not to participate<\/strong>&nbsp;in or cooperate with the military\u2019s illegitimate electoral process, but instead to&nbsp;<strong>collectively and firmly oppose it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>2. NUG Health Ministry Reports: 4-Year Record of 1,106 Health Facilities, 5,098 Workers, and Over 147,000 Maternity Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 3<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a press release issued on July 3, the Ministry of Health under the National Unity Government has, over the four-year period from&nbsp;<strong>April 2021 to April 2025<\/strong>, operated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1,106 health facilities<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>325 supervisory personnel<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a total\u00a0<strong>workforce of 5,098<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>During this period, the Ministry provided:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>147,665 antenatal care services<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>31,656 childbirth services<\/strong>, including<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>12,359 caesarean sections<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, outpatient care was provided to&nbsp;<strong>2,416,508 individuals<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>99,823<\/strong>&nbsp;surgical patients were treated. A total of&nbsp;<strong>9,241 patients<\/strong>&nbsp;were transferred to other facilities for advanced care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>School health programs were also conducted for&nbsp;<strong>193,017 students<\/strong>&nbsp;across&nbsp;<strong>1,811 schools<\/strong>&nbsp;in various field areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry noted that&nbsp;<strong>only about one-third<\/strong>&nbsp;of ground-level health facilities were able to report their data, meaning the actual number of beneficiaries receiving care is likely&nbsp;<strong>up to three times higher<\/strong>&nbsp;than currently documented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>3. 313 Elephants from 12 Townships Participate in the Spring Revolution; NUG Ministry Supports Within Its Capacity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 3<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of July 3, a total of&nbsp;<strong>313 elephants from 12 townships<\/strong>&nbsp;are actively participating in the Spring Revolution. Union Minister Dr. Tu Khawng from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation stated that the Ministry has been providing support&nbsp;<strong>as much as possible<\/strong>&nbsp;from its&nbsp;<strong>monthly operating budget<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He elaborated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCaring for elephants isn&#8217;t just a matter of sentiment. Elephants must endure constant harassment from flies, mosquitoes, and insects. In deep forests where the wildest animals roam freely, they must brave harsh weather and survive in tough conditions. Currently, 313 elephants from 12 townships are involved in the revolution. In addition to the Ministry&#8217;s limited support,&nbsp;<strong>international elephant lovers<\/strong>&nbsp;have also contributed through the &#8216;Little Comrades of the Resistance&#8217; campaign. Some elephants have even lost limbs after stepping on landmines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>4. Nearly 30 Senior Officers Killed or Captured Since Launch of \u201cOperation 1027\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 3<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a report released by the&nbsp;<strong>Myanmar Defense &amp; Security Institute (MDSI)<\/strong>, nearly&nbsp;<strong>30 high-ranking officers<\/strong>&nbsp;from the military council\u2014including brigadier generals and major generals\u2014have been killed, captured, or defected between&nbsp;<strong>October 2023 and April 2025<\/strong>, since the beginning of&nbsp;<strong>\u201cOperation 1027.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The breakdown of losses is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>9<\/strong>\u00a0captured as prisoners of war,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>6<\/strong>\u00a0defected and surrendered,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>7<\/strong>\u00a0killed in combat,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1<\/strong>\u00a0died by suicide,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3<\/strong>\u00a0killed or went missing, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1<\/strong>\u00a0still missing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA)<\/strong>&nbsp;inflicted the most significant losses on junta officers, resulting in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3 captured,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 defections,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 combat deaths, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 suicide \u2014 totaling\u00a0<strong>12<\/strong>\u00a0officers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In clashes with the&nbsp;<strong>Arakan Army (AA)<\/strong>, the losses included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4 captured,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 killed,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 killed\/missing, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 missing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Fighting with the&nbsp;<strong>Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (TNLA)<\/strong>&nbsp;resulted in 1 captured and 1 killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further combat with the&nbsp;<strong>Kachin Independence Army (KIA)<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA)<\/strong>&nbsp;also saw one officer killed in each instance.
