Two Shaanxi Y-8 Military Aircraft Bearing Myanmar Air Force Markings Spotted at Kunming Airport, China<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 23<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to&nbsp;<strong>Myanmar Witness<\/strong>, two&nbsp;<strong>Shaanxi Y-8F-200W military transport aircraft<\/strong>, believed to be soon deployed by the&nbsp;<strong>Myanmar Air Force (MAF)<\/strong>, were sighted at the&nbsp;<strong>Kunming International Airport<\/strong>&nbsp;in the People\u2019s Republic of China. The report was released on&nbsp;<strong>June 23<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft are identified as&nbsp;<strong>strategic transport aircraft<\/strong>&nbsp;and are labeled with the&nbsp;<strong>Myanmar Air Force insignia<\/strong>. Notably, their&nbsp;<strong>tail numbers\u20145923 and 5924\u2014have never been seen before<\/strong>, marking them as newly acquired units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, the Y-8F-200W aircraft with tail number&nbsp;<strong>5922<\/strong>&nbsp;was introduced into service in&nbsp;<strong>December 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Myanmar military junta\u2019s air force is reportedly&nbsp;<strong>expanding its fleet<\/strong>&nbsp;of Y-8 aircraft, emphasizing their&nbsp;<strong>logistical transport capabilities<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>multi-purpose operational utility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International monitoring sources indicate that the junta currently operates&nbsp;<strong>at least seven Y-8 transport aircraft<\/strong>&nbsp;in its air force fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>4. Former Political Prisoner and Renowned Writer Nyein Ae Aye Passes Away<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 23<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Writer Nyein Ae Aye (a.k.a. U Kyaw Kyaw Oo)<\/strong>\u2014a former political prisoner, participant in the&nbsp;<strong>Hmine Yar Pyay Uprising<\/strong>, and widely known as the&nbsp;<strong>Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Tharaphiu Magazine<\/strong>\u2014passed away at&nbsp;<strong>around 12:00 noon on June 23<\/strong>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<strong>Pinlon Hospital in Yangon<\/strong>, due to&nbsp;<strong>cancer<\/strong>, at the age of&nbsp;<strong>69<\/strong>, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nyein Ae Aye actively participated in the&nbsp;<strong>1976 Hmine Yar Pyay Uprising<\/strong>&nbsp;and was a&nbsp;<strong>former member of the Communist Party of Burma<\/strong>. He was also a&nbsp;<strong>former political prisoner<\/strong>&nbsp;and a major figure in Myanmar\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>postmodern literary scene<\/strong>, having spearheaded the publication of&nbsp;<em>Tharaphiu Magazine<\/em>&nbsp;during the early 1990s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>2024<\/strong>, after being hospitalized due to dizziness, he was diagnosed with&nbsp;<strong>cancer<\/strong>&nbsp;and had been receiving treatment since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following his passing, members of both the&nbsp;<strong>literary<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>political communities<\/strong>&nbsp;have expressed their&nbsp;<strong>deep sorrow<\/strong>.
