Thay K\u2019Pale Military Camp in Karen State Reclaimed by Joint Forces Led by KNLA and KNDO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 23<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thay K\u2019Pale military base, located in Kawkareik Township, Dooplaya District, in the Kawthoolei-administered area of the Karen National Union (KNU), has been recaptured by the joint revolutionary forces led by the&nbsp;<strong>Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA)<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO)<\/strong>, together with&nbsp;<strong>People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF)<\/strong>&nbsp;units, according to an announcement released today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the KNU withdrew from Manerplaw headquarters, Thay K\u2019Pale camp was established in May 1995 as the new KNU headquarters. However, it was seized by the Myanmar military in February 1997\u2014before it had even completed two years of operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, after&nbsp;<strong>28 years<\/strong>, on&nbsp;<strong>June 22, 2025<\/strong>, the joint revolutionary forces successfully reclaimed and took control of the Thay K\u2019Pale military base, which had originally belonged to them, from the occupying junta forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>2. Airstrike on Metta Nanda (Yekkan Zin) Hospital on the Border of Singu and Madaya Townships Kills Woman in Labor, Injures Others<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 23<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Metta Nanda Hospital (Yekkan Zin), located near the border of&nbsp;<strong>Singu Township<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Madaya Township<\/strong>, was struck by an aerial bombing carried out by the military junta, resulting in the death of a woman\u2014approximately 30 years old\u2014who had come to the hospital for childbirth, and causing severe injury to another individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement from the Singu Township People&#8217;s Defense Committee (PaKaPha), the attack took place on&nbsp;<strong>June 22 at 11:05 PM<\/strong>, when the junta conducted&nbsp;<strong>two successive aerial assaults<\/strong>&nbsp;using a&nbsp;<strong>Jet Fighter<\/strong>&nbsp;aircraft\u2014once at&nbsp;<strong>11:05 PM<\/strong>, and again at&nbsp;<strong>11:10 PM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deceased was a woman in labor who had traveled from&nbsp;<strong>Set Taw Lan Kwe Village<\/strong>&nbsp;in Madaya Township. Another&nbsp;<strong>35-year-old woman<\/strong>&nbsp;was critically injured (life-threatening), while&nbsp;<strong>11 other civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;who were receiving medical care at the hospital sustained&nbsp;<strong>non-life-threatening injuries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airstrikes also destroyed&nbsp;<strong>three buildings<\/strong>, including the maternity ward of the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities have issued warnings urging civilians to&nbsp;<strong>stay away from areas near SAC (State Administration Council) positions<\/strong>&nbsp;and to&nbsp;<strong>dig and prepare air raid shelters<\/strong>&nbsp;as a precaution against future airstrikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>3. Fifteen Junta Soldiers Killed in Yenangyaung Township Clashes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 23<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Defence Force \u2013 Yenangyaung PDF,&nbsp;<strong>15 junta soldiers<\/strong>&nbsp;were killed during clashes that took place in&nbsp;<strong>Yenangyaung Township, Magway Region<\/strong>, following a 20-day-long military column operation between local defense forces and the military junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The confrontation began on&nbsp;<strong>May 27<\/strong>, when junta forces entered the area via&nbsp;<strong>Tharluu Kan\u2013Pho Koe Road<\/strong>&nbsp;and, in coordination with Pyu Saw Htee militias from&nbsp;<strong>Si Pin Pyu Village<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Kyaukpadaung Township<\/strong>, launched a military incursion of approximately&nbsp;<strong>150 troops<\/strong>&nbsp;into territory controlled by revolutionary forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The junta column committed multiple acts of violence during their operation. They&nbsp;<strong>torched and destroyed 15 civilian homes<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Kantha (Ywathit) Village<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Lwanpinshyo Village<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>abducted and executed<\/strong>&nbsp;one civilian each from&nbsp;<strong>Lwanpinshyo Village<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Inntaw Village<\/strong>, and continued their offensive maneuvers for 20 days before finally&nbsp;<strong>withdrawing on June 16<\/strong>&nbsp;via&nbsp;<strong>Kone Ei\u2013Phaung Kwel Road<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attacks against junta troops during this operation were carried out jointly by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>People&#8217;s Defence Force \u2013 Yenangyaung (YNG-PDF)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tamar Myay Special Column<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Yenanthar Column<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inntaw Region People\u2019s Defence Team (PaKaPha)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. \u201cUrban Target \u2013 Gun5\u201d Campaign Nearing Deadline but Only 30% Funded<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 23<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only&nbsp;<strong>nine days remain<\/strong>&nbsp;until the deadline of the&nbsp;<strong>\u201cUrban Target \u2013 Gun5\u201d campaign<\/strong>, yet it has reached just&nbsp;<strong>30% of its funding goal<\/strong>, according to organizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campaign team issued a message to the public:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDear friends, there are only 9 days left to complete our \u2018Urban Target \u2013 Gun5\u2019 campaign, and so far we&#8217;ve only reached 30% of our goal. You can also assist by resharing our campaign posts through RCS (Rebel Communication System).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Urban Target \u2013 Gun5 Campaign<\/strong>&nbsp;is aimed at&nbsp;<strong>equipping ground units with Gun5 firearms<\/strong>&nbsp;to enable&nbsp;<strong>coordinated urban operations<\/strong>, especially in and around&nbsp;<strong>Yangon and nearby regions in Bago Region<\/strong>, in collaboration with allied forces.
