According to the Zero Panther People\u2019s Defense Force \u2013 Myingyan<\/em>, three junta soldiers were killed in a sniper attack in Nganzun Township, Myingyan District, Mandalay Region<\/strong>, as they were returning from a shopping trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack occurred early in the morning on June 20<\/strong>, when around 20 junta troops, who had left Min Ne Kone police station<\/strong> for shopping in Kaung Sin village<\/strong>, were ambushed on their return route by snipers lying in wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the sniper attack, a brief clash ensued, and junta troops from Min Ne Kone station also fired back with heavy weapons. However, resistance forces were able to retreat without sustaining casualties, sources report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sniper ambush successfully inflicted casualties because of the preemptive positioning, with three junta soldiers reportedly killed on the spot<\/strong>. Additional casualties may have occurred, though details remain unconfirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operation was carried out by Battalion 7 of the Zero Panther People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF)<\/strong> based in Myingyan District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A junta soldier was apprehended while under the influence of drugs and alcohol at a restaurant in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region<\/strong>, according to a statement from the Taungtha People’s Defense Force (PDF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the morning of June 22<\/strong>, around 9 a.m., PDF members in plainclothes conducted surveillance at the restaurant after receiving a tip about an intoxicated junta soldier wearing a partial uniform and civilian clothing. The soldier was arrested while buying betel quid<\/strong>, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operation was led by female PDF officers from the Taungtha Township People’s Defense Force<\/strong>, who executed the arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The soldier has been identified as Warrant Officer Aung Win Ko<\/strong> from the Myittha-based No. (1) Military Heavy Industry<\/strong>. Authorities seized one MA-1 rifle<\/strong> and 250 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition<\/strong> during the arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A junta aerial bombardment on Ma Yoe Kone village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region<\/strong>, killed a father and daughter and injured nine civilians<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on June 22<\/strong>, a junta fighter jet<\/strong> dropped three bombs<\/strong>. The first two exploded near Ywar Shay village<\/strong>, which had already been burned down by junta forces and was uninhabited at the time. The third bomb directly hit Ma Yoe Kone village<\/strong>, resulting in civilian casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deceased have been identified as U Pa Nyain<\/strong>, aged 80, and his daughter Daw Khin Moe Swe<\/strong>, aged 40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, nine villagers sustained injuries<\/strong>, with two in critical condition<\/strong>. Five houses were damaged<\/strong>, and two cattle<\/strong> were killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As there were no active clashes in the area, resistance groups condemned the attack as a deliberate aerial assault on civilians<\/strong>. They urged the public to strictly adhere to air raid safety protocols<\/strong> and to construct robust bomb shelters<\/strong> to protect against further airstrikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A donation ceremony was held in Phaungpyin Township, Mawlaik District, Sagaing Region<\/strong>, in which revolutionary civilians presented bulletproof vests, tactical helmets, and other military equipment<\/strong> to Battalion (1)<\/strong>. The event also included a financial support program for the families of fallen resistance fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was held on June 20<\/strong> in a liberated area. It was attended by the District Commander of Mawlaik<\/strong>, the District Secretary<\/strong>, the Commander and Deputy Commander of Battalion (1)<\/strong>, intelligence officers<\/strong>, training instructors<\/strong>, the Pa-Ah-Pha (People\u2019s Administration Body) leader and officer in Phaungpyin Township<\/strong>, the local Pa-Ka-Fa (People\u2019s Defense Force) leader<\/strong>, the township communication officer<\/strong>, a Southern Coordination Unit representative<\/strong>, representatives from Military Sub-Districts 1 to 4<\/strong>, families of fallen resistance fighters, village-level administrative officers<\/strong>, PDF unit commanders<\/strong>, revolutionary civilians, and logistics supporters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech, the District Commander expressed sincere gratitude for the support and donations from revolutionary civilians in fulfilling the essential needs of frontline battalions. The ceremony was concluded successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 5. 54 Junta Soldiers Defected Within One Week; 47 Captured as Prisoners of War<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to records collected by People\u2019s Goal<\/em>, a total of 101 junta personnel<\/strong>\u2014including military soldiers, police, and militia fighters<\/strong>\u2014either defected, surrendered their weapons, or were captured as prisoners of war during the second week of June, as reported by the \u201cThis Week in Pyei Hpa Project<\/em>\u201d update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among them, 54 individuals defected<\/strong>, comprising one police officer<\/strong> and 53 military soldiers<\/strong>, with 11 of them<\/strong> being newly conscripted troops recruited under the junta\u2019s military conscription law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, 47 junta-affiliated fighters<\/strong> were captured as prisoners of war, including 29 soldiers from Magway and Mandalay Regions<\/strong> and 18 militia members (People\u2019s Militias) from Sagaing Region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on People\u2019s Goal<\/em>\u2019s records, from January 2025 to the second week of June<\/strong>, a total of 1,398 junta personnel<\/strong> have either surrendered, defected, or been captured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
