PLA and Allied Forces Capture Kampagound Police Station after Massive Aerial and Ground Assaults

June 20
Radio NUG

In Pale Township, Sagaing Region, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) led allied forces in a major offensive on the Kampagound police station. The assault began on June 2 and, after more than two weeks of fighting, culminated in the station’s capture at 6:40 AM on June 19, according to a PLA press release.

During the operation, over 200 aerial strikes and more than 500 bombs were deployed. The attackers used jet fighters, Y-12 bombers, Mi-35 attack helicopters, and unmanned aerial drones.

On June 10 at 12:15 PM, PLA shot down a junta F7 (Chengdu J‑7) fighter jet over the battlefield. The aircraft crashed into a nearby village, killing the pilot.

To reinforce the station, the junta dispatched numerous air-dropped and ground convoys loaded with ammunition, weapons, and supplies—even deploying Mi‑17 helicopters—and attempted to re‑establish a supply route from Inmahti village, about 3½ miles from Kampagound. However, PLA and allied fighters intercepted and thwarted these efforts, preventing all resupply. Junta soldiers inside the station reportedly suffered severe morale collapse when they repeatedly failed to receive supplies.

The Kampagound station lies on the strategic ASEAN Highway (Pale–Gangaw route) with road access to India—making it a high-value target. About 30 miles northwest lies a defense equipment factory (“CAPS‑23”) and another facility (“CAPS‑24”) around 35 miles southwest. It is the second most important police station after Pale Township’s central outpost, heavily fortified with bunkers, minefields, and defensive lay‑outs, Radio NUG reports.

During the offensive, the PLA female commanders actively led the charge. The assault was jointly executed by several forces, including:
– ABSDF 3rd Battalion, 14th Group
– People’s Unity Force (PUF)
– Kyatshinthit (Tiger Force) from Yinnmar Pin District 11
– Burma Liberation Democratic Front (BLDF)
– Dawn Net Borderless Panther Group
– Thatpayetaw People’s Defense Force (Mying Myaung Township)
– Anyar Myay coalition.

========================

🚩🚩 2. According to military sources, at least 50 junta soldiers were killed or captured during the engagement.

The outpost—belonging to the junta’s No.32 Police Battalion—had between 80 and 100 soldiers stationed there. After its capture, AA forces surrounded the battalion and launched continuous attacks to prevent reinforcements and logistical support. They have also secured nearby camps at Nampo Taung, Mintat Taung, and Leik Khmaw.

Despite the junta’s efforts to deploy water, timber, and sandbag defenses—and calling in air support—the monsoon season has limited aerial supply lines. AA is reportedly focusing attacks on the No. 32 battalion, Kyaukphyu airport, Khayar Than 34, and prison complexes, aiming to fully capture Kyaukphyu town.

========================

🚩🚩 3.
