Airstrikes in Kamma Area Kill 2 Civilians and Injure 14 Including Children<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Kamma region of Pakokku District, Magway Region, airstrikes conducted by the military junta between June 6 and 18 have resulted in the deaths of&nbsp;<strong>2 civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;and injuries to&nbsp;<strong>14 others<\/strong>, including children, according to a statement released by the Kamma Joint Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The junta\u2019s airstrikes targeted villages and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Kamma area. Within the 12-day period, the area was attacked&nbsp;<strong>80 times by Y-12 aircraft<\/strong>, dropping a total of&nbsp;<strong>178 120mm bombs<\/strong>;&nbsp;<strong>5 paramotor raids<\/strong>&nbsp;delivered&nbsp;<strong>7 additional 120mm bombs<\/strong>; and&nbsp;<strong>16 drone attacks<\/strong>&nbsp;were also carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>June 14 at midday<\/strong>, four fighter jets launched a coordinated attack on villages in the Kamma area using&nbsp;<strong>3 cluster bombs<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>10 rockets<\/strong>&nbsp;simultaneously. On the&nbsp;<strong>night of June 16<\/strong>, two 500-pound bombs were dropped on a Buddhist monastery sheltering Kamma area IDPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of these airstrikes, 2 civilians were killed and 14 others\u2014including children\u2014suffered severe injuries. Additionally,&nbsp;<strong>schools, religious structures, homes<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>livestock such as goats and cows<\/strong>&nbsp;were damaged or destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, junta ground forces stationed in Kamma Town reportedly&nbsp;<strong>arrested more than 15 civilians<\/strong>, and it has been initially confirmed that&nbsp;<strong>3 detainees from Shwe Lone village, Yoe Zayat village, and Kamma Chaung area<\/strong>&nbsp;were&nbsp;<strong>executed<\/strong>, according to the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>2. Military Escort of Copper Convoy Attacked with Mines Near Monywa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An armored military convoy (Jummer trucks) providing security for copper transport vehicles from Wanbao Company was hit by a mine ambush along the Monywa\u2013Chaung-U road, according to Area-71 Local People&#8217;s Defense Force (LPDF) Monywa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>June 18 at around 7:00 a.m.<\/strong>, the armored convoy accompanying the copper transport trucks left from the No. 33 Military Command in Monywa. At around&nbsp;<strong>7:30 a.m.<\/strong>, near the junta\u2019s checkpoint at Khin Mone Village, four cluster-type directional mines (Padei-thar) were detonated in a coordinated attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite being caught between the advancing junta convoy and military outposts, the resistance forces managed to&nbsp;<strong>accurately strike the fourth vehicle in the convoy<\/strong>&nbsp;while carefully avoiding any damage to nearby civilian passenger vehicles or motorcycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the ambush, junta troops opened fire with small arms, and nearby military outposts also responded with&nbsp;<strong>40mm grenades<\/strong>, but the resistance forces were able to safely withdraw without casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This coordinated attack was jointly carried out by the&nbsp;<strong>Monywa Township Mine Team<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Area-71 LPDF Monywa<\/strong>, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>3. Junta Outpost at Shwe Moe Nyo Pagoda in Kan Pauk Attacked by Resistance Forces<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Kan Pauk area of Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, the People\u2019s Defense Team of Yebyu Township has reported an attack on a&nbsp;<strong>temporary military junta outpost stationed at the Shwe Moe Nyo Pagoda<\/strong>&nbsp;near Payar village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack, carried out on&nbsp;<strong>June 15<\/strong>, was led by the&nbsp;<strong>Yebyu Township Allied Resistance Forces<\/strong>, targeting the junta&#8217;s temporary camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least&nbsp;<strong>three junta soldiers<\/strong>&nbsp;were killed, and several others sustained injuries during the raid. Soldier from LIB-52 Based in Kani Defects to the People\u2019s Defense Side<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A soldier from&nbsp;<strong>Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 52<\/strong>, based in&nbsp;<strong>Kani Town<\/strong>, has defected&nbsp;<strong>unarmed<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>joined the People&#8217;s Defense side<\/strong>, according to a report by the&nbsp;<strong>Pa Ka Pha Voice<\/strong>&nbsp;(People\u2019s Defense Forces Media).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report stated that Pa Ka Pha forces are implementing the strategic plan of the People&#8217;s War and are actively working to encourage more defections and disarmament among junta soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5. 133 Civilians Killed in Magway Region by Military Junta as of June 18, 2025 \u2014 Including 22 Children Under Age 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to data collected by the&nbsp;<strong>Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP)<\/strong>, a total of&nbsp;<strong>133 civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014&nbsp;<strong>43 women and 90 men<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 have been confirmed killed by the military junta in&nbsp;<strong>Magway Region<\/strong>&nbsp;between&nbsp;<strong>January 1 and June 18, 2025<\/strong>. Among them,&nbsp;<strong>22 were children under the age of 18<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of those killed,&nbsp;<strong>69 civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;reportedly died as a result of&nbsp;<strong>airstrikes<\/strong>, making aerial attacks the leading cause of civilian deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>June 16<\/strong>, the military junta carried out an&nbsp;<strong>airstrike<\/strong>&nbsp;on a&nbsp;<strong>Buddhist monastery<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Zi Taw Village<\/strong>, part of the&nbsp;<strong>O Yin Village Tract in Myaing Township<\/strong>, Magway Region. A bomb dropped during the raid&nbsp;<strong>exploded inside the monastery compound<\/strong>, killing&nbsp;<strong>Ma Thay Kyi<\/strong>, a displaced woman who had fled from&nbsp;<strong>Htan Naung Village<\/strong>, Kamma Village Tract, in Pakokku Township.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>6.
