Four Junta Soldiers Killed in Attack on Military Column Using Civilians as Human Shields in Paungde Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Paungde Township of Bago Region, a military column of approximately 100 junta troops that had abducted civilians to use as human shields was attacked, resulting in the deaths of&nbsp;<strong>four soldiers<\/strong>, according to an officer from the People&#8217;s Defense Force Battalion 3601.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack targeted a military convoy moving between&nbsp;<strong>Nwartho Village and Nwe Taung Village<\/strong>&nbsp;in Thitpot Village Tract, which had captured residents from&nbsp;<strong>Yote Hsaing Village<\/strong>&nbsp;and was using them as human shields. The assault took place on&nbsp;<strong>June 16<\/strong>, from&nbsp;<strong>10:50 AM to 2:15 PM<\/strong>, during which&nbsp;<strong>four junta soldiers were killed and three others injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the attack, the junta forces placed the bodies of their deceased soldiers inside&nbsp;<strong>civilian homes<\/strong>&nbsp;in Nwartho and Nwe Taung villages and proceeded to&nbsp;<strong>burn down the houses<\/strong>&nbsp;before retreating toward&nbsp;<strong>Pauk Khaung<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The assault was carried out by Sniper teams and comrades of Battalion 3601, operating under&nbsp;<strong>Operational Zone 21<\/strong>, who intercepted the military convoy. Three Junta Troops, Including Officer, Killed in Ambush Near Chaung-U; Weapons Seized<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three junta soldiers, including a commissioned officer, were killed in an ambush on a military unit departing from the&nbsp;<strong>General Administration Department Office<\/strong>&nbsp;in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region. Several weapons and ammunition were seized, according to the&nbsp;<strong>Brave Heart Army (BHA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack occurred on the morning of&nbsp;<strong>June 16<\/strong>, along the&nbsp;<strong>Monywa\u2013Mandalay highway near Taopu Village<\/strong>, targeting a vehicle carrying five junta soldiers, including a&nbsp;<strong>three-star officer<\/strong>, who had just departed from the Chaung-U District Administration Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the ambush,&nbsp;<strong>three soldiers<\/strong>\u2014including a&nbsp;<strong>Major<\/strong>\u2014were killed, one was wounded, and one escaped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the clash, the vehicle used by the junta troops was inspected, and weapons were seized, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Two long-barrel guns<\/strong>&nbsp;(MA1 and MA5),<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Three short-barrel firearms<\/strong>&nbsp;(including Par\u00e9 and 9mm Sig Sauer),<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Three mobile phones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vehicle was subsequently&nbsp;<strong>set on fire and destroyed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operation was executed by fighters from&nbsp;<strong>Brave Heart Army\u2013BHA<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>no casualties<\/strong>&nbsp;were reported among the People&#8217;s Defense Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BHA further stated that similar missions will continue to be carried out against junta forces and has appealed to the public for assistance in&nbsp;<strong>supplying ammunition<\/strong>&nbsp;wherever possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;3. Yangon Entry \u201cHelmet and Bulletproof Vest\u201d Campaign Surpasses 127% Target Achievement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cHelmet and Bulletproof Vest for Yangon Entry Fighters\u201d campaign has&nbsp;<strong>successfully surpassed its original target<\/strong>, achieving&nbsp;<strong>127% completion<\/strong>, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campaign was organized by the&nbsp;<strong>Yangon Region People\u2019s Defense Force\u20131<\/strong>, with the aim of providing&nbsp;<strong>helmets and body armor<\/strong>&nbsp;for frontline fighters preparing for operations entering Yangon. Ten Drug Dealers Arrested in Kyaukme within Two Weeks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Kyaukme Township, located in the northern part of Shan State under Ta\u2019ang Region Military Command 2, ten drug dealers\u2014including nine men and one woman\u2014were arrested within a two-week span, according to a June 18 announcement by the PSLF\/TNLA News and Information Department. The arrests were carried out by the Kyaukme Township Police Force operating under the Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (PSLF\/TNLA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acting on intelligence reports of illegal drug activity, township police raided the homes of 31-year-old Hein Min Lat from Pan Paung Village and 26-year-old Sai Ba Htun from Ward 8 on June 13. During the search, they seized white opium concealed in LIPOVITAN-D energy drink bottles and coconut oil containers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 11, 43-year-old U Saw Maung and 21-year-old Ko Aik Mun from Kywel Kone Village were arrested with 1,316 yaba (methamphetamine) pills. Similarly, on June 10, 32-year-old U Ye Min Thet from Aout Kyin Ward was apprehended with 39 yaba pills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, on June 8, authorities raided the home of 43-year-old U Tin Aung Win in Ward 1 after receiving reports of drug sales. He was caught with 490 WY-marked methamphetamine tablets and MMK 185,200 in cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 3, during ongoing spot inspections, 42-year-old U Pho Zaw, 28-year-old U Aik Oo, and 55-year-old Daw Moe Kham were caught in possession of 1,302 yaba tablets and a bowl of white opium. Furthermore, 28-year-old Ko Aung Thu Hein was arrested with 40 yaba pills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kyaukme Township Police Force announced that all those arrested for drug trafficking will be prosecuted in accordance with anti-narcotics laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a related operation this past May, 10 drug traffickers and 20 users were apprehended during spot inspections carried out by the same police unit in Muse, Kutkai, Namkham, Namhsan, and Namtu townships, as reported by the PSLF\/TNLA News and Information Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5. Myanmar Military Systematically Disseminated Over 10,000 Hate Posts Targeting Rohingya<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Myanmar military systematically disseminated more than&nbsp;<strong>10,000 hate speech posts<\/strong>&nbsp;targeting the Rohingya, according to findings from a report released by the&nbsp;<strong>Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report examined content posted between&nbsp;<strong>July and December 2017<\/strong>&nbsp;across&nbsp;<strong>43 Facebook pages<\/strong>. All of these pages were taken down by Facebook in 2018.
