Since the unlawful military coup, the Myanmar people have been suffering severe developmental, financial, economic, and social decline—conditions further exacerbated by the devastating earthquakes that struck in March this year,” the Ambassador said.

He further emphasized the need to stop the military from misusing humanitarian aid and medical support as tools of war, stating, “To end HIV/AIDS as a public health threat in Myanmar, the military junta must cease weaponizing humanitarian assistance and medical supplies. Likewise, as the military dictatorship and its illegitimate coup are the root causes of Myanmar’s current crisis, the junta and its unlawful seizure of power must be fully and permanently brought to an end.”

Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun also noted that the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Health, in collaboration with ethnic revolutionary organizations and relevant stakeholders, has been actively working on HIV/AIDS prevention efforts in Myanmar, including conducting public awareness campaigns.

========================

📌📌 2. Following these incidents, it is reported that the Yangon Regional Military Commander lashed out at local military units.

It was also noted that certain nightclubs and KTV lounges in Yangon—such as Arena and A4—are operated by former military officers, and the military has been actively preventing drug-related arrests at these establishments.

There are reportedly 10 battalions under the Yangon Region Regional Military Command, with a combined estimated force of around 1,000 troops. According to Lieutenant Colonel Zin Yaw, a participant in the anti-coup resistance, this force was formed after the 2021 coup to maintain rear-area security in Yangon, as frontline units such as Light Infantry Division 11 and Military Security Affairs (Sa Ka Kha) Unit 4 had been redeployed to active combat zones.

========================

📌📌 5. “Auctioned with Heart for Amay Suu” Painting Proceeds to Be Donated to Political Prisoners and Revolution Areas

June 17
Radio NUG

To commemorate the 80th birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar-Australian artist Dr. Khin Shwe Ohn created an oil painting—under the theme “Auctioned with Heart for Amay Suu”—at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.
