Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than stresses effective and systematic handling of corruption cases<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 16<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prime Minister&nbsp;<strong>Mann Win Khaing Than<\/strong>&nbsp;emphasized the need to handle corruption cases&nbsp;<strong>effectively, systematically, and with accuracy<\/strong>&nbsp;during the 21st meeting of the&nbsp;<strong>Interim Local Public Administration Steering Central Committee<\/strong>&nbsp;of the National Unity Government (NUG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs the revolutionary period prolongs, it is crucial that every action produces visible and tangible results. Not only will this reinforce public trust, but it will also boost morale among the committed forces actively engaged in the revolution. Therefore, our operations must be well-planned and deliberate,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In township-level taxation matters,\u00a0<strong>decisive and effective enforcement<\/strong>\u00a0would help strengthen public confidence in the National Unity Government and demonstrate its ability to govern and manage the evolving situation on the ground.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While corruption must be dealt with firmly, it is equally important to do so in a\u00a0<strong>systematic and lawful<\/strong>\u00a0manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extreme caution must be exercised to avoid unjust or mistaken enforcement actions and wrongful arrests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All administrative activities must\u00a0<strong>remain closely connected to ground-level realities<\/strong>, and challenges that arise must be addressed collectively and in a timely fashion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, the meeting was led by Prime Minister&nbsp;<strong>Mann Win Khaing Than<\/strong>&nbsp;and attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, and relevant departmental officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>2. MSFC adopts resolution to draft a Charter for a Mon Federal Unit during the revolutionary period<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 16<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Mon State Federal Council (MSFC)<\/strong>&nbsp;held its&nbsp;<strong>third general assembly<\/strong>&nbsp;over two days with the goals of reviewing ongoing federal initiatives and setting future strategic directions for Mon State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the&nbsp;<strong>National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC)<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>National Unity Government (NUG)<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>Karenni State Consultative Council<\/strong>, and various&nbsp;<strong>Spring Revolution organizations<\/strong>, with over&nbsp;<strong>200 participants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the report, a total of&nbsp;<strong>196 delegates<\/strong>&nbsp;participated\u2014<strong>125 online<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>71 in person<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The assembly covered political and military cooperation efforts led by the Mon State Federal Council, and included resolutions such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>(a)<\/strong>\u00a0Drawing up a\u00a0<strong>Mon State Charter<\/strong>\u00a0during the revolutionary period to establish an\u00a0<strong>effective Mon Federal Unit<\/strong>, formed by uniting revolutionary forces with shared goals across 10 townships of Mon State.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>(b)<\/strong>\u00a0Developing and implementing a\u00a0<strong>comprehensive strategy<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>mobilize public resistance<\/strong>\u00a0against the 2025 election planned by the military junta in Mon State.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>(c)<\/strong>\u00a0Forming\u00a0<strong>District-level People\u2019s Security and Public Service Committees<\/strong>\u00a0to assist in providing humanitarian services to civilians, especially women and children affected by war in Mon State and surrounding regions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>(d)<\/strong>\u00a0Collaborating with\u00a0<strong>ethnic revolutionary organizations (EROs)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>ethnic federal units<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>other pro-democracy forces<\/strong>\u00a0to implement a\u00a0<strong>bottom-up federalism<\/strong>\u00a0model that promotes state-level strength as the foundation for building a strong union.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>During this third assembly of the Mon State Federal Council,&nbsp;<strong>Naing Kaung Ywet<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mi Koon Chan Noon<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Dr. Thiri Mon Chan<\/strong>&nbsp;were elected as&nbsp;<strong>members of the presidium<\/strong>, and chairpersons were chosen for the&nbsp;<strong>three core committees<\/strong>\u2014Legislative, Executive, and Judiciary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was announced that these bodies will lead the implementation of the political, military, and administrative programs adopted by the third assembly of the Mon State Federal Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>3. Kachin People&#8217;s Safe Haven (KPEZ) and People&#8217;s Goal Collaborate to Provide Democracy and Federalism Training to Families of CDM Soldiers and Police in Northern Kachin State<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 16<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been reported that the Kachin People&#8217;s Safe Haven (KPEZ), in collaboration with the People&#8217;s Goal organization, has facilitated the participation of family members of CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) soldiers and police officers residing in northern Kachin State in training programs focused on democracy and federalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to enable such training for the family members of CDM soldiers and police based at KPEZ Sites No. (1) and (2), the People&#8217;s Goal provided a contribution of 1.5 million MMK. This fund covered the transportation costs of the trainers, hosting expenses, and operational costs required for the training sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to statements from the People&#8217;s Goal, in addition to offering democracy and federalism-related knowledge, they are also working to raise awareness on topics such as security sector reform among CDM family members, in collaboration with relevant local organizations in their respective regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>4. Political Prisoners Transferred from Monywa Prison Beaten by Obo Prison Staff and Security Forces, Denied Medical Treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 16<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), individuals who were recently transferred from Monywa Prison to Obo Prison were violently beaten by Obo prison officials and security personnel, resulting in injuries. However, the victims were reportedly denied medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the past week, around&nbsp;<strong>200 inmates<\/strong>, including political prisoners such as&nbsp;<strong>Ko Wai Moe Naing<\/strong>, a prominent leader of the Monywa protests, were transferred from Monywa Prison in Sagaing Region to Obo Prison in Mandalay Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was reported that some political prisoners sustained injuries as a result of being beaten by Obo prison staff and security forces. Despite this, the prison authorities failed to provide necessary medical care for the injured detainees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to available records,&nbsp;<strong>a total of 29,283 individuals<\/strong>&nbsp;have been arrested in connection with the unlawful military coup. Wishing for your swift release from unjust detention&#8230;<\/strong>&#8221; she wrote, adding that she had also submitted a video message of birthday wishes to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
