Allied resistance fighters from the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), who successfully shot down two helicopters belonging to the military junta, were awarded MMK 10 million in recognition by the group known as Nga That Kyaik Thulaye Myar Aphwe<\/em> (“Bird Lovers Group”), according to local military sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award was presented in honor of the May 20 operation in which the KIA and allied forces, engaged in an urban offensive to seize control of Bhamo\u2014considered the second most important city in Kachin State\u2014brought down two junta helicopters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time, three helicopters were delivering weapons and reinforcements to the junta\u2019s Northwestern Command Unit 21, stationed in Bhamo. The KIA and allied revolutionary forces managed to shoot down and destroy two of them during the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MMK 10 million in award money was sent via the KIA\u2019s central military command and was officially received on May 28, according to a certificate of appreciation issued by the KIA military office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A statement dated May 29 from the KIA military department expressed deep gratitude for the support and confirmed that the event had been recorded as a commendable contribution to the revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 2. BWM Forces Fire Three 107mm Rockets at Junta\u2019s Northwestern Military Headquarters in Monywa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resistance forces launched three 107mm short-range rockets at the Northwestern Military Headquarters (Na Ma Kha) of the junta in Monywa, Sagaing Region, with all rockets reportedly hitting their intended targets and exploding successfully, according to a statement issued today (June 15) by the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack occurred on the night of June 14 at around 10 p.m., targeting the junta\u2019s base of operations, which issues commands to military units in Sagaing, northern Magway, and Chin State. This headquarters is known for directing brutal suppression operations against resistance groups and civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to BWM, this strike was carried out as \u201cMission 41\u201d due to the compound\u2019s deployment of tanks, drones, and other military hardware, and its role in orchestrating massacres and oppression of civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, intelligence indicated that the junta was planning celebrations within the compound, and the operation was also intended to disrupt their sense of security and create a psychological atmosphere of constant threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rockets launched by the resistance forces did indeed cause explosions within the Northwestern Command Headquarters, and the junta forces responded with retaliatory fire. However, the extent of damage and casualties is still under investigation, the statement added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operation was jointly executed under the leadership of BWM, in collaboration with the Shadow \u2013 Monywa Group, the Golden Triangle Allied Battalion, and the Justice Brothers Force. No injuries were reported among the revolutionary fighters involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Pyu Saw Htee member from Aung Thar Village Pyu militia camp in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, has defected along with his family, surrendering with weapons and ammunition, according to the Ayar Daung resistance force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defector reportedly left the camp on June 12<\/strong> around 11 a.m.<\/strong>, bringing his family and surrendering to People\u2019s Defense Force \u2013 Pakokku District Battalion 5, Ayar Daung Unit<\/strong>. He carried with him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
