CRPH Enacts the &#8220;Nonviolent Civil Disobedience Government Employee Law&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 13<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee Representing the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) has officially announced that the \u201cNonviolent Civil Disobedience Government Employee Law,\u201d submitted by the CDM Success Committee of the National Unity Government (NUG) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, was enacted by the Union Parliament on&nbsp;<strong>June 13<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The law was enacted with the following objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>To respect and uphold the political convictions of government employees participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM)<\/strong>\u00a0and to safeguard their civil and fundamental human rights;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To officially recognize and honor CDM government employees<\/strong>\u00a0as exemplary civil servants through effective acknowledgment and commendation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To provide necessary support<\/strong>\u00a0for the continuous physical, psychological, and professional development of CDM government employees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To investigate and address the harm and human rights violations<\/strong>\u00a0experienced by CDM employees, and to implement measures for justice and redress;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To contribute to the establishment of a federal democratic union<\/strong>\u00a0with a dignified, fair, and justice-oriented civil service system;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To preserve the integrity and commitment of CDM government employees in the long term<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To scrutinize non-CDM government employees in accordance with the law<\/strong>\u00a0and take appropriate action based on their conduct or failures.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The law comprises&nbsp;<strong>seven chapters<\/strong>, covering areas such as official recognition, commendation, redress, pursuit of truth and justice, enforcement measures, the right to submit petitions, and the formation, term, duties, and powers of a commission, along with general provisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>2. Meeting Between Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament and CDM Government Employees Council (CCSC-SFU)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 13<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>June 13, 2025<\/strong>, at 1:00 PM, the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament and the Sagaing Federal Unit CDM Government Employees Council (CCSC-SFU) held a video conference meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, the Speaker of the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament delivered opening remarks and clarified upcoming procedural matters. Subsequently, the Chairperson of the CDM Government Employees Council (CCSC-SFU) also delivered a speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the opening addresses, discussions were held on several matters, including&nbsp;<strong>constitutional proposals during the transitional period<\/strong>, approval-related issues, the&nbsp;<strong>challenges and hardships faced by CDM government employees in Sagaing<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>future strategic actions<\/strong>. The discussions were said to be conducted in a spirit of mutual understanding and coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>3. Political Prisoner U Maw Htoo Dies in Obo Prison Due to Inadequate Medical Treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 13<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>U Maw Htoo<\/strong>, a 54-year-old political prisoner incarcerated in Obo Prison, died on&nbsp;<strong>June 13, 2025<\/strong>, at around 7:00 AM, due to severe injuries sustained during the&nbsp;<strong>March 28 earthquake<\/strong>&nbsp;and the lack of adequate medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He had suffered serious injuries to his&nbsp;<strong>neck and head<\/strong>&nbsp;during the earthquake. Despite undergoing&nbsp;<strong>two surgeries<\/strong>, his condition did not improve, and he eventually lapsed into a coma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>U Maw Htoo had been arrested on&nbsp;<strong>December 2, 2021<\/strong>, at Chanmyathazi Police Station in Mandalay Region\u2019s Chanmyathazi Township. He was charged under&nbsp;<strong>Section 505(a)<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Section 50(j)<\/strong>&nbsp;and was sentenced to&nbsp;<strong>18 years in prison<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although further surgery and treatment would have required approximately&nbsp;<strong>8 million kyats<\/strong>, the Political Prisoners Network Myanmar (PPNM) could only assist with&nbsp;<strong>1.36 million kyats<\/strong>. He passed away before sufficient funds could be secured for his treatment, the&nbsp;<strong>PPNM<\/strong>&nbsp;stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>4. Political Prisoners Transferred from Monywa Beaten by Prison Authorities Upon Arrival at Obo Prison<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 13<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement by the&nbsp;<strong>Political Prisoners Network Myanmar (PPNM)<\/strong>, on the morning of&nbsp;<strong>June 12<\/strong>, approximately&nbsp;<strong>200 inmates<\/strong>, including political prisoners and other convicts, were transferred and arrived at&nbsp;<strong>Mandalay\u2019s Obo Prison<\/strong>&nbsp;around&nbsp;<strong>12:00 noon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon arrival at the&nbsp;<strong>main entrance of Obo Prison (Gate Buu Wa)<\/strong>, nearly all transferred prisoners were&nbsp;<strong>brutally beaten<\/strong>&nbsp;by prison officers and police personnel using&nbsp;<strong>rubber batons and wooden clubs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the assault,&nbsp;<strong>at least 50 political prisoners<\/strong>&nbsp;sustained injuries, including&nbsp;<strong>deep lacerations and blunt force trauma<\/strong>&nbsp;to the&nbsp;<strong>head, arms, and back<\/strong>. The report further stated that their&nbsp;<strong>right to life and physical security<\/strong>&nbsp;was severely endangered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>June 13<\/strong>, preparations were reportedly underway to transfer some of the inmates from Obo Prison to other prisons such as&nbsp;<strong>Myingyan<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Magway<\/strong>. Relevant authorities have been&nbsp;<strong>urged through public appeals<\/strong>&nbsp;to take necessary actions in response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>5. Mentally Ill Man Beats and Kills a Child in Ho Nar Village, Namkham<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 13<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>PSLF\/TNLA<\/strong>&nbsp;has released a statement reporting a tragic incident in which a&nbsp;<strong>mentally ill man<\/strong>&nbsp;fatally assaulted a child in&nbsp;<strong>Ho Nar Village<\/strong>, located in&nbsp;<strong>Namkham Township, Ta&#8217;ang Region 6<\/strong>, in Ta\u2019ang-administered territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>June 10<\/strong>, at approximately&nbsp;<strong>12:10 PM<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>five-year-old Maung Htet Aung Shine<\/strong>&nbsp;was playing near his home when&nbsp;<strong>U Sai Mar Wah<\/strong>, a mentally unstable man,&nbsp;<strong>struck him with a wooden log<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The child was hit on the&nbsp;<strong>head and lower back<\/strong>, and died&nbsp;<strong>while arrangements were being made to send him to a hospital<\/strong>, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the incident,&nbsp;<strong>U Sai Mar Wah<\/strong>&nbsp;was apprehended by the&nbsp;<strong>Ta\u2019ang Regional Police Force<\/strong>&nbsp;and taken into custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>6. Three Dead Bodies Recovered from Room H-2 of Sky Villa B in Mandalay<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 13<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>June 13, 2025<\/strong>, at&nbsp;<strong>3:10 PM<\/strong>, three dead bodies were recovered from&nbsp;<strong>Room H-2 of Sky Villa B<\/strong>, located in&nbsp;<strong>Mandalay City<\/strong>. TLA Holds Graduation Ceremony for Basic Ta\u2019ang Literacy Course in Kyaukme<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 13<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>PSLF\/TNLA<\/strong>&nbsp;has reported that the&nbsp;<strong>Ta\u2019ang Literature and Culture Committee (TLA)<\/strong>&nbsp;conducted a&nbsp;<strong>graduation ceremony for a Basic Ta\u2019ang Literacy Course<\/strong>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong>June 10 at 9:00 AM<\/strong>, in&nbsp;<strong>Pan Phyat Village<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Kyaukme Township<\/strong>, within&nbsp;<strong>Ta\u2019ang Region 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of&nbsp;<strong>58 participants<\/strong>\u2014<strong>12 male<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>46 female trainees<\/strong>\u2014completed the course.
