Three Civilians Captured and Executed by Junta Troops in Hpakant<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 12<\/strong><br>In Hpakant Township, Kachin State, three civilians were reportedly captured and executed by the junta\u2019s military column, and their bodies were dumped by the roadside, according to local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sources state that the junta troops stationed in Maw Si Sa Village shot and killed three men on the night of&nbsp;<strong>June 11<\/strong>&nbsp;and abandoned their bodies at the&nbsp;<strong>Maw Si Sa junction<\/strong>, where they were discovered on the morning of&nbsp;<strong>June 12<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local sources believe the perpetrators are likely from the junta column patrolling Maw Si Sa, which had been active in the area and may have intentionally targeted civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same military column, which has been advancing through Hpakant with full force, had previously set fire to vehicles and buildings belonging to companies operating in the jade mining sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to military records, from&nbsp;<strong>May 27 to June 12<\/strong>, over&nbsp;<strong>20 civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;have been killed due to artillery shelling, drone strikes, bombings, and small-arms fire carried out by junta troops operating in the region since late May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the heightened state of armed conflict, the joint forces of&nbsp;<strong>KIA<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>KPDF<\/strong>&nbsp;have issued a public warning urging civilians to&nbsp;<strong>remain indoors between 9 PM and 4 AM<\/strong>&nbsp;and to be vigilant regarding the threats posed by junta troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the KIA-KPDF joint forces have advised against travel on the&nbsp;<strong>Maw Kaung\u2013Karmaing\u2013Hpakant road<\/strong>, citing an increased junta military presence and reinforcement movements in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;2. Monastery, School, and Civilian Homes Damaged by Junta Airstrike in Manli Village, Namhkam Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 12<\/strong><br>In&nbsp;<strong>Manli Village<\/strong>, located in Namhkam Township within Ta&#8217;ang Region (Military Division 8), a junta airstrike has destroyed a&nbsp;<strong>monastery<\/strong>, a&nbsp;<strong>school<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>civilian homes<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>PSLF\/TNLA<\/strong>&nbsp;(Palaung State Liberation Front\/Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army) reported that in the early morning of&nbsp;<strong>June 12<\/strong>, the junta launched an air attack using&nbsp;<strong>a fighter jet<\/strong>&nbsp;that dropped&nbsp;<strong>two 500-pound bombs<\/strong>, directly targeting civilian areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airstrike occurred shortly after&nbsp;<strong>1 AM<\/strong>, with&nbsp;<strong>two successive bombings<\/strong>, causing destruction to the monastery, the school, and several civilian homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TNLA stated in an official release that the attack was a&nbsp;<strong>deliberate airstrike against civilians<\/strong>, carried out without any prior clashes or battles in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not the first instance. KNU Brigade 7 Headquarters Area Attacked by Junta Suicide Drones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 12<\/strong><br>In&nbsp;<strong>Karen State<\/strong>, the junta launched an attack using&nbsp;<strong>suicide drones<\/strong>&nbsp;targeting the&nbsp;<strong>headquarters area of KNU Brigade 7<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack began around&nbsp;<strong>midnight on June 11<\/strong>, with the junta deploying suicide drones to strike near the KNU\u2019s Brigade 7 headquarters. No casualties were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At&nbsp;<strong>1:01 AM<\/strong>&nbsp;on June 12, the first suicide drone bomb was dropped. Between&nbsp;<strong>2 AM and 4 AM<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>four more drones<\/strong>&nbsp;exploded in the area around&nbsp;<strong>Kalo Lay village<\/strong>, which is within the Brigade 7 headquarters region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Padoh Saw Kale Sae<\/strong>, spokesperson for the Karen National Union (KNU), confirmed that the&nbsp;<strong>five suicide drones<\/strong>&nbsp;were used in the attack, of which&nbsp;<strong>four detonated successfully<\/strong>&nbsp;while&nbsp;<strong>one failed to explode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other sources reported that a total of&nbsp;<strong>seven suicide drones<\/strong>&nbsp;were used in the assault targeting the&nbsp;<strong>KNU Central Headquarters<\/strong>, with five successfully exploding near&nbsp;<strong>Sango Taung<\/strong>&nbsp;and close to the&nbsp;<strong>main administrative hall<\/strong>, though no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This marks the&nbsp;<strong>third time<\/strong>&nbsp;the junta has launched suicide drone attacks on the&nbsp;<strong>KNU Central Headquarters<\/strong>, following previous assaults in&nbsp;<strong>January<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>October of 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KNLA (Karen National Liberation Army) and allied forces are monitoring and responding to the situation as junta forces intensify drone warfare in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;4. The KNU denounced the attack as an intentional act of violence against civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KNU reaffirmed its recognition of the right to education for all children within the Kawthoolei Administrative Area and highlighted its previous issuance of a safety directive on October 9, 2024. Four Junta Soldiers Killed in Drone Strike on Troops Stationed at Zeyawaddy Railway Station and Sugar Mill<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 12<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Phyu Township of Taungoo District, Bago Region, four junta soldiers were killed and two others injured in a drone attack targeting troops stationed at&nbsp;<strong>Zeyawaddy Railway Station<\/strong>&nbsp;and a&nbsp;<strong>sugar mill located east of Zeyawaddy<\/strong>\u2014both situated along the old Yangon\u2013Mandalay highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement from the Phyu Township People\u2019s Defence Force (PDF), the strike occurred at&nbsp;<strong>9:45 PM on June 10<\/strong>&nbsp;and involved both drones and aerially dropped bombs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drone unit of the Phyu PDF also carried out an attack on a junta checkpoint near the southern salt inspection gate of Zeyawaddy town, killing four junta soldiers and injuring two others, as confirmed by ground-level field sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement further noted that the junta troops stationed at the railway station and sugar mill had been engaging in forced recruitment of new soldiers and extorting money unlawfully from the local population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the mill\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>manager and deputy manager<\/strong>&nbsp;were reportedly providing assistance\u2014including private vehicles\u2014to junta forces as they sought to reorganize the Zeyawaddy sugar mill for military purposes. This support was allegedly intended to facilitate both military operations and forced conscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the attack by the Phyu PDF on junta troops positioned at the railway station and sugar mill, junta personnel reportedly&nbsp;<strong>fled the scene<\/strong>, abandoning two private vehicles.
