It has been learned that a birthday celebration in honor of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will be held at the UK Parliament on June 19. The event will include a musical tribute performed by Ko Mun Aung, who will sing in heartfelt homage to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, traveling from Norway to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 80th birthday celebration will be hosted by Sir Stephen Timms, a Labour Party Member of Parliament and Minister of State at the Department for Work and Pensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees at the event are expected to offer multi-faith prayers and blessings for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and will collectively sign a petition calling for the release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners in Myanmar. Today, a demonstration in support of Myanmar was held beneath the Broken Chair<\/em> sculpture in front of the United Nations headquarters. The protest aimed to raise awareness and express solidarity with the people of Myanmar. Participants included members of global labor unions and delegates attending international conferences from various countries, according to a statement released on June 4 by the Ministry of Labour of the National Unity Government (NUG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protest took place during the 113th International Labour Conference (ILC), which was attended by a tripartite delegation led by the NUG\u2019s Ministry of Labour. The purpose of their participation was twofold: to advocate for the official recognition of the NUG\u2019s tripartite delegation and to call for economic sanctions against the State Administration Council (SAC) junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this demonstration, participants called for effective and sustained actions against the SAC and demanded that the issue of taking measures against the junta under Article 33 be addressed when the conference reaches its decision-making phase. They voiced their firm support for the people of Myanmar and appealed for urgent action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants in the protest included representatives from international labor unions and country-specific delegates attending the ILC. They stood in solidarity with the people of Myanmar and demanded an immediate end to the human rights violations and labor rights abuses committed by the SAC. The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) has announced that it will investigate the airstrike on a school in Ohtainkwin Village, located in Depayin Township, Sagaing Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe airstrike occurred on May 12 in Ohtainkwin Village, Sagaing Region. Since the February 2021 military coup, dozens of attacks have targeted schools across Myanmar. These assaults have resulted in the deaths and injuries of many children. The Mechanism is investigating crimes committed against children. According to reports, on May 12 at approximately 9:40 AM, the SAC (State Administration Council) conducted an aerial bombing on a school in Ohtainkwin Village, located in the western part of Depayin Township, Sagaing Region. The attack killed 24 people, including teachers and students, and left over 100 others injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement follows reports of envelopes being distributed in major Thai cities, soliciting donations under the battalion\u2019s name. PDF Ayeyarwady No. 3 stated that it has not designated anyone to collect support funds from Myanmar nationals living abroad and urged the revolutionary public to remain cautious to prevent misunderstandings or potential issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The battalion operates under the command of the Ayeyarwady Region Military Command, within the PDF\u2019s No. 2 Military Operation Zone. It carries out military operations using resources allocated by the People\u2019s Defense Force, including public donations and officially coordinated financial support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement further clarified that public contributions are collected through trusted donors, the battalion\u2019s official social media pages, and organized monthly support campaigns. Acknowledgements and certificates of appreciation are issued to donors accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee Jae-myung, candidate from South Korea\u2019s Democratic Party, has won the country\u2019s presidential election, according to reports. He is set to become the 21st President of the Republic of Korea, as announced by U Yan Naing Tun, NUG Representative to South Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The election, held on June 3, 2025, saw Lee Jae-myung defeating his main opponent, Kim Moon-soo, by at least a 12% margin, based on official vote counts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee Jae-myung is known to be a supporter of Myanmar\u2019s Spring Revolution and maintains a close relationship with the National Unity Government (NUG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
