Mandalay Region Resistance Forces Convene to Exchange Views on Political and Revolutionary Developments<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A coordination meeting of resistance forces active in the Mandalay Region was held via Zoom on June 2, 2025. During the meeting, the participants shared and discussed recent political and revolutionary developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the first agenda item, attendees shared updates on the ongoing drafting process of the&nbsp;<em>Interim Political Framework for the Mandalay Region<\/em>. Following this, the Mandalay Legislative Body (CRMH) presented its report, while the Emergency Management Committee \u2013 Mandalay (EMC-MDY) provided updates on humanitarian and emergency response activities. Discussions also covered matters related to education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting continued with in-depth exchanges on the current political landscape and ongoing revolutionary developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the resistance forces of the Mandalay Region collectively discussed strategies for broader, more cohesive, and robust coordination to intensify and advance the revolutionary efforts. The focus was on enhancing collaboration, unity, and forward momentum in the fight against the military dictatorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>2. Military Council and Pyu Saw Htee Forces Summarily Execute Two Civilians and Detain 16 Others in Kan Gyi Village, Kanbalu Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Military Council troops and Pyu Saw Htee militia forces from the Kanbalu-based Kyat Thin outpost are reported to have brutally executed two unarmed civilians and abducted 16 others from Kan Gyi Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Kanbalu District chapter of the Kyun Hla-Kanbalu Activists Group, at around 9:30 AM on May 31, approximately 100 combined forces from the Military Council\u2019s Kyat Thin outpost in Kanbalu Township and Pyu Saw Htee militias raided the western part of Kan Gyi Village. There, they summarily executed Ko Thein Htway (aged 40) and Maung Zeya Htun (aged 20).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The troops then proceeded to arrest 16 villagers, including underage children, and forcibly took them away. Their whereabouts remain unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since May 18, continuous troop deployments from the Koe Taung Bo and Kyat Thin outposts have forced nearly 10,000 civilians from surrounding villages in the Koe Taung Bo and Kyat Thin areas to flee their homes, resulting in over two weeks of displacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two columns\u2014estimated at a combined strength of around 200 soldiers\u2014have established a semi-permanent base in Thin Taw Village. They have reportedly looted ox carts, cattle, and valuable property from local villagers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On May 31, the column from Kyat Thin outpost entered western Kan Gyi Village again, executing Ko Thein Htway and Maung Zeya Htun in cold blood. They also abducted 16 civilians, including three young girls aged 7, 8, and 12. As of now, none of the detainees have been released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>3. SAC\u2019s Thay Baw Boe Hilltop Base Under Attack by KNU\/KNLA and PDF Forces; Over 500 Civilians Displaced<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hilltop military base of the State Administration Council (SAC) in Thay Baw Boe is currently under heavy attack by joint forces of the Karen National Union\/Karen National Liberation Army (KNU\/KNLA) and People\u2019s Defence Forces (PDF), using heavy artillery and drones. The offensive has triggered the displacement of more than 500 civilians from the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Strategic Documentation Unit of the People\u2019s Defence Forces, the joint attack began on the morning of June 2. The target is the Thay Baw Boe hilltop base\u2014occupied by SAC\u2019s Division 443 and Light Infantry Battalion 32.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The escalation of hostilities between the two sides has prompted fears of intensified conflict. As a result, residents from nearby villages in Waw Lay and Thay Baw Boe areas have fled. Reportedly, 326 from Waw Lay, 125 from Thay Baw Boe, and 65 from Son Se Myine\u2014a total of 507 people\u2014have crossed into Thailand seeking refuge from the fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. Helmets and Equipment Including Bulletproof Vests Provided to VENOM Soldiers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 3, Cobra Column 2 VENOM announced that helmets, equipping items, and bulletproof vests valued at over 500,000 baht were provided to VENOM soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur battalion commander, through his mentor, equipped the recently graduated comrades with helmets, equipping items, and bulletproof vests worth over 500,000 baht,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5. PNO People\u2019s Militia Launched Attacks Using Heavy Weapons, Says PNLA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement released by the Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA), the PNO People\u2019s Militia, a subordinate armed group under the junta, launched attacks using heavy weaponry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This occurred despite the military council\u2019s recent public announcement that a ceasefire would be extended for a month, from June 1 to June 30.
