Colonel Aung Myat, Commander-in-Chief of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), has issued a warning to remain vigilant against those who use divisive rhetoric aligned with the enemy and those who seek to undermine national unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This message was included in his speech commemorating the fourth anniversary of the founding of the KNDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, Colonel Aung Myat reminded KNDF troops that as an armed force, they must uphold the code of conduct, laws, and regulations governing military operations. He emphasized the importance of protecting civilians, including children and women, and reaffirmed the KNDF’s commitment to combating drug-related issues. These duties, he said, must be faithfully observed by all KNDF personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further urged KNDF members to act in accordance with the law, safeguard the lives and property of the public, and maintain internal unity within the ranks. He stressed the importance of cultivating a people-centered armed force that commands the trust of the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commander-in-Chief also cautioned against the abuse of rank and authority, calling for honesty, integrity, and solidarity. He instructed that all forms of domestic support be used effectively and appropriately for the revolution, without misuse. Additionally, he emphasized the need to remain mindful of the current political dynamics and the historical foundations of their revolutionary struggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Colonel Aung Myat, the KNDF has successfully endured hardships and challenges over the past four years of resistance and has made significant contributions to the liberation struggle\u2014not only for the Karenni people but also for the entire population of Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) was established on May 31, 2021. Over the past four years, the KNDF has evolved into a well-organized revolutionary armed force based in Karenni territory, comprising a total of 35 battalions under nine military commands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mandalay People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF) has declared that it will join hands with the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) in the decisive battle to eradicate the military dictatorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This affirmation was made in a formal message sent by the Mandalay PDF on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the KNDF’s founding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement noted that KNDF and Mandalay PDF have long maintained a deep and friendly relationship. In recognition of the KNDF\u2019s contributions over the past four years\u2014organizing 35 battalions under nine commands and making sacrifices of life, blood, and sweat in the struggle for equality, self-determination, and federal democracy\u2014the Mandalay PDF extended its salute and respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mandalay PDF further stated that the political and military gains achieved through the leadership and sacrifices of KNDF commanders and members are not only significant for Karenni State and its people but also represent major historical milestones for the Spring Revolution as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the Mandalay PDF announced its intent to partner with the KNDF in the forthcoming decisive offensive against military dictatorship\u2014an effort aimed at realizing the political and military aspirations long held by the Karenni people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 3. Two Junta Supply Trucks Ambushed in Taungtha: Two Soldiers Killed, One Captured Alive, and Weapons Seized<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to an announcement released today (May 31) by the Taungtha Township People’s Defence Force (PDF) under the National Unity Government (NUG), an ambush was carried out on two junta military logistics vehicles transporting supplies and rations through Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region. The attack resulted in the deaths of two junta soldiers<\/strong>, the capture of one junta personnel alive<\/strong>, and the seizure of one truck along with weapons and ammunition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ambush occurred around 9:00 PM on May 27<\/strong> on the Taungtha\u2013Welong road. The attack targeted a military supply truck<\/strong> carrying about 10 personnel<\/strong>, and a 10-wheel cargo truck<\/strong> with approximately 20 personnel<\/strong>. The convoy was traveling from Taungtha toward Welong Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the supply truck managed to flee the scene with some junta soldiers and police sustaining injuries, the 10-wheel truck that followed<\/strong> was successfully hit and seized by the attacking forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the ambush, clearance operations conducted in the area uncovered the bodies of two junta soldiers<\/strong>. Additionally, one police officer from Police Battalion No. 5 based in MyoHla Township<\/strong> was captured alive, and various weapons and ammunition were confiscated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The captured officer reportedly confirmed that soldiers and police personnel from the 10-wheel truck had sustained injuries and fled during the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One G4-type firearm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

328 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

468 rounds of 63mm ammunition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six 60mm grenades<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Icon-brand device<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two hand grenades<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eight ammunition magazines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One R7 grenade launcher round<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This operation was carried out by the Taungtha Township PDF police unit<\/strong>, and no casualties were reported among the resistance fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 4. Over 7,000 Residents Displaced as Junta Troops Torch Villages in Paukkhaung Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to statements by the Federation of Student Unions operating from within Myanmar, more than 7,000 residents in Paukkhaung Township, Pyay District, Bago Region<\/strong>, have been forced to flee their homes due to ongoing military offensives by the junta’s ground troops, who are torching villages and shelling civilian areas with heavy weaponry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginning May 29<\/strong>, junta forces have launched coordinated offensives into multiple villages in Paukkhaung Township, including Inhsauk<\/strong>, Kwan Ohn<\/strong>, and Thaitkhon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 30<\/strong>, junta troops shot and killed an elderly internally displaced couple (around 60 years old)<\/strong> who had returned to Inhsauk Village to retrieve belongings. The regime’s forces also set fire to Dalamae Village, Thitpot Village, Myay Ni Kyaw Village, Thaphan Kine Village, and Mayoe Kyun Village<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Federation of Student Unions also reported that a 15-year-old schoolgirl<\/strong> injured by heavy artillery shelling from the junta still has not received medical treatment as of today<\/strong>, further condemning the junta\u2019s violent acts against civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resistance forces operating in Paukkhaung Township are reportedly assisting civilians by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helping them evacuate to safe locations when junta columns approach<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Establishing emergency IDP shelters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Providing food and supplies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Constructing bomb shelters<\/strong> in advance to protect against airstrikes and heavy artillery<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have urged local civilians to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stay informed through resistance communications<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avoid returning to their villages while junta forces remain in the area<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only return home once clearance is confirmed<\/strong> by relevant revolutionary forces<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Federation pledged continued support for IDPs to the best of their abilities and called on residents of towns and urban centers to contribute what they can to assist those affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
