TNLA Announces Continued Joint Operations with KIA for Nationwide Liberation, Warning That Liberation of a Few Cannot Guarantee True Freedom

May 29
Radio NUG

Despite occasional clashes on the ground due to territorial issues, the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) affirmed on May 28 that it would continue joint military operations with the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) for the liberation of the entire country, according to TNLA’s Joint General Secretary, Major Tar Parn La, during a media briefing.

“We have consistently maintained coordination with our ally, the KIO [Kachin Independence Organization]. We hold regular meetings. Moreover, we have signed around three foundational alliance agreements, which had remained intact up until around May 2023.

Regarding the escalated frictions that emerged in 2024 and 2025, we are working extensively to determine how we can continue cooperating and join forces in the broader nationwide revolution.

It is not sufficient for only our region to be liberated. Our allied regions must also achieve liberation. Similarly, all people across the country must be freed. Only then can our own liberation be secured. Otherwise, any liberation we gain will merely be temporary,”

said Major Tar Parn La.

He further added that the conflict between KIO and TNLA arose largely due to the breakdown of political norms and deterioration of trust following the military coup, and that both organizations are in active dialogue about how to overcome such challenges and contribute meaningfully to the broader national liberation struggle.

========================

🚩🚩 2.
