U Min Ko Naing Urges Public Participation in Building Safe Hospitals

In light of nationwide preparations for widespread offensives, U Min Ko Naing has called on the public to actively participate in addressing the urgent need for safe and secure hospitals and clinics.

He stated:

“The fascist military, acting in line with its brutal nature, has been relentlessly bombing hospitals, clinics, schools, and civilian targets from the air. In such circumstances, not only our revolutionary fighters but also civilians who may face direct consequences in emergency battle zones need reliable medical care.
We’ve witnessed and experienced this ourselves many times — when timely access to treatment is delayed due to logistical difficulties, lives that could have been saved are lost. Just yesterday, we lost a revolutionary comrade due to such delays — it was a deep and painful loss.
That’s why mobile clinics are essential, but they too must be safe and secure. Building such facilities requires financial support. This is where the public must come in and contribute.”

He further explained that while there is no shortage of human resources — including CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) healthcare professionals and trained medical personnel — the key challenge lies in establishing safe treatment spaces. He emphasized the pressing need for hospitals and clinics that can withstand aerial attacks and called for public financial support to meet these needs.

To address this, the Ministry of Health under the National Unity Government (NUG) has launched the Safe Hospital, Safe Healthcare Fundraising Campaign. The campaign aims to ensure the availability of secure healthcare services and build hospitals capable of resisting aerial bombardment. Running from May 24 to June 30, the campaign seeks to raise USD 400,000, according to official sources.

========================

📌📌 2. Sweden Expresses Deep Condolences to Families of Victims Killed by Myanmar Military Airstrikes

On May 28, the Embassy of Sweden in Yangon issued a statement expressing profound condolences to the families of civilians killed in aerial attacks carried out by the Myanmar military in Sagaing, Magway, Mandalay, Bago, Rakhine, Chin, and other regions and states across the country.

The statement reads:

“We are deeply concerned about the almost daily reports of airstrikes by the military targeting civilians, including schools, hospitals, and religious sites, in clear violation of the military’s own declared ceasefire.”

Sweden emphasized that attacks against civilians — particularly innocent children — constitute war crimes. Justice For Myanmar Criticizes ASEAN’s Failed Five-Point Consensus and Complicity in Civilian Atrocities

On May 28, Justice For Myanmar (JFM) issued a statement condemning ASEAN for continuing to promote its failed Five-Point Consensus, even as the military junta intensifies airstrikes and artillery attacks on civilians in violation of its own declared ceasefire.

JFM stated:

“Not only has the Five-Point Consensus failed to produce any meaningful outcomes, it has actively obstructed effective international action and shielded the junta, allowing it to carry out mass atrocities with impunity.”

The statement further condemned ASEAN member states and corporate entities for financially supporting the junta and enabling its nationwide terror campaign. It accused them of aiding the junta in committing mass killings and displacing millions by providing resources that fuel airstrikes, massacres, and the deliberate targeting of children.

JFM called on ASEAN to end its complicity, cut all ties with the military junta, and respect the rights and democratic aspirations of the people of Myanmar, stating that the time to act is now.

========================

📌📌 4.
