Rock Transport Train Hit by Mine Near Hninpale Station in Thaton Township; Engineer Injured<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>May 25<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<em>Thaton Township, Mon State<\/em>, a rock-carrying freight train struck a mine near&nbsp;<em>Hninpale Station<\/em>, between&nbsp;<em>Kyunkalay<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Zayatkyun<\/em>&nbsp;villages, resulting in minor injuries to the train\u2019s engineer, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident occurred at around&nbsp;<strong>8:00 AM<\/strong>&nbsp;on May 25, when the train traveling from&nbsp;<em>Thaton<\/em>&nbsp;toward&nbsp;<em>Bilin<\/em>&nbsp;was hit by a mine blast. Six carriages of the train&nbsp;<strong>derailed<\/strong>, and over&nbsp;<strong>10 feet of the railway track was destroyed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to the damage, emergency repair operations are underway, and several&nbsp;<strong>Yangon-Mawlamyine express trains<\/strong>&nbsp;had to be reversed or suspended. Back when they were on good terms, they led illegal gambling and drug activities in town. But things changed after Major Myo Win Thu and others left the scene. The operations became subdued. July Tun separated from his wife, became a drug addict, and likely felt powerless without the influence he once had.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His body was buried the same night at the&nbsp;<em>Gangaw Municipal Cemetery<\/em>.
