An airstrike by the Myanmar military junta targeted a village school in Ohtaintwin Village, located in the western part of Dipeyin Township, Sagaing Region, killing at least 17 civilians, according to local sources cited by PVTV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack occurred at 9:36 AM<\/strong> today, when a junta jet dropped bombs on the school. A local news source informed PVTV that, \u201cAs of now, 17 people have been confirmed dead, including children. Another 20 have been injured. The number of casualties may still increase.\u201d<\/em> This update was provided during a PVTV phone interview at 12:43 PM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The targeted school was situated between Ohtaintwin South and Ohtaintwin North villages, and the airstrike reportedly took place during a class session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preliminary reports indicate that the jet responsible for the bombing originated from the junta’s airbase in Meiktila, Shan Htei<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack, carried out by a fighter jet from the Myanmar junta\u2019s Tada-U base, inflicted injuries on two men and caused the destruction of two civilian houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the attack, local residents have been urged to stay away from areas with junta presence and to construct underground shelters to protect themselves from potential future airstrikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the May 12 announcement, these images represent active frontline operations carried out by Battalion No. 2 (P2-3702) under Strategic Command (25).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the NUG\u2019s Ministry of Defense, the People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF), and allied units from Southern Operation Zones 1 and 2<\/strong>, along with the Karen National Union\u2019s Brigade 3<\/strong>, have been jointly conducting operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the CNF\u2019s statement, a ground-level conference was held between April 26 and 29<\/strong>, attended by 39 representatives<\/strong>. During the meeting, participants reached basic agreements to jointly implement public service delivery\u2014such as healthcare, education, and food security<\/strong>\u2014in an effective and coordinated manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CNF also committed to working with domestic and international stakeholders, revolutionary groups, and the broader Chin population to ensure that these services reach local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the country was still reeling from the aftermath of a devastating earthquake, the military junta launched over 300 airstrikes<\/strong> against civilian populations, resulting in the deaths of more than 330 civilians<\/strong>, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Human Rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry documented civilian casualties and injuries caused by junta airstrikes occurring between March 28 and May 7, 2025<\/strong>, during the period when the public was already suffering from the destruction caused by a powerful earthquake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the compiled records:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

372 airstrikes<\/strong> were launched by the junta,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

334 civilians were killed<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

552 were injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regions most heavily affected by these aerial attacks include Sagaing Region<\/strong>, Magway Region<\/strong>, Mandalay Region<\/strong>, and Karen State<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Mogok Township<\/strong>, located in the 3rd Brigade area<\/strong> of Ta\u2019angland, nine drug users<\/strong> have been arrested by the local police force of the Pa Laung State Liberation Front \/ Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (PSLF\/TNLA)<\/strong>, according to an official announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 8<\/strong>, the central, district, and township police forces coordinated a series of inspection operations at town entry-exit points and within surrounding villages. These operations led to the arrest of a significant number of drug users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrested individuals will be prosecuted under the Anti-Narcotics Law<\/strong> by the PSLF\/TNLA\u2019s police department in Ta\u2019angland. Furthermore, PSLF\/TNLA stated that those arrested for drug use will be sent to rehabilitation camps for a six-month correctional program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, the PSLF\/TNLA’s police force has intensified anti-narcotics operations across 18 townships in 5 districts<\/strong>, leading to the arrest of a large number of drug users and traffickers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April alone<\/strong>, the police force in Ta\u2019angland successfully arrested 13 drug traffickers<\/strong> and 65 drug users<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
