The National Unity Government (NUG) has announced that in 2024 alone, a total of over MMK 472.141 billion<\/strong> and 16.94 ticals of pure gold<\/strong> were collected from auctions and fines<\/strong> within the timber\/environmental<\/strong> and mineral\/gemstone<\/strong> sectors across NUG-administered territories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In these areas governed under the interim People\u2019s Administrative Mechanism<\/strong>, livestock tax collections<\/strong> from buffaloes and cattle<\/strong> between November 2023 and September 2024<\/strong> amounted to a total of MMK 3,349,425,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, from December 2022 to December 2024<\/strong>, the energy sector<\/strong>, including oil and petroleum products<\/strong>, generated over MMK 100 billion<\/strong> in tax revenue. The NUG stated that these funds have been actively channeled into essential sectors that support the ongoing revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to an announcement by the Nway Oo Lottery team, proceeds from the weekly sale of Super 4 lottery tickets<\/strong> will be used to award prizes to winners<\/strong>, while all remaining profits will be utilized in accordance with the “Aung Lan Lwin Kyi” policy<\/strong>, a revolutionary fundraising initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These profits will be submitted to the Ministry of Planning, Finance, and Investment<\/strong> of the NUG to help strengthen and expand the Revolution Fund<\/strong>, which is essential to the People’s Revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Citizens can participate by purchasing a Super 4 ticket for MMK 1,000<\/strong>, and winners will be drawn every Sunday<\/strong>. The organizers expressed their wishes for participants to have a chance at winning and contributing to the cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first draw<\/strong> of the Weekly Super 4 lottery is scheduled for 12:00 PM Myanmar Time on May 11, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Blood Money Campaign (BMC)<\/strong> has announced that it has provided cash assistance<\/strong>, essential food items<\/strong>, medicines<\/strong>, and emergency shelters<\/strong> to victims of the recent earthquake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the March 28 earthquake<\/strong> in Sagaing, over 4,400 people<\/strong> lost their lives, and more than 11,000 were injured<\/strong> across multiple regions, including Sagaing, Mandalay, Naypyidaw, Shan State, Bago, and Karen State<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to BMC, through donations made via SDB and NUGPay<\/strong>, as well as the support of individuals and allied organizations<\/strong>, a total of MMK 15.5 million<\/strong> was raised. These funds were used to provide cash assistance<\/strong> and relief supplies<\/strong> to both previous conflict-affected<\/strong> and current earthquake-affected households<\/strong>, based on their needs. Given the potential for aftershocks<\/strong> following the major Sagaing earthquake, the public has been advised to stay alert, take precautions<\/strong>, and remain prepared<\/strong> for potential seismic hazards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Thein Lwin, founder of the Thinking Classroom Foundation, has announced that demonstration and discussion sessions on \u201cReading and Writing for Critical Thinking (RWCT)\u201d methods officially commenced today, May 5, in Kayin State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 150 teachers are participating in this 10-day program. Dr. Thein Lwin, along with nine RWCT instructors from the University of Kayin, will lead the sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May of last year, similar discussion programs were also conducted across various zones in Kayin State, involving over 800 teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is reported that there are more than 150 schools, over 900 teachers, and more than 20,000 students currently in Kayin State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myanmar nationals residing in South Korea organized a protest march on May 4 from Seoul Station Plaza to the Chinese Embassy in Seoul. The demonstration, held from 1 PM to 4 PM, expressed opposition to the Myanmar military and condemned foreign interference in Myanmar\u2019s internal affairs by certain neighboring countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protest was jointly organized by MFDMC and Myanmar pro-democracy groups in South Korea, in collaboration with Korean civil society organizations. More than 150 individuals participated in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protest featured speeches calling for support for the revolution, recitation of revolutionary poems, and various awareness-raising activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 41st Nway Oo Tea Gathering<\/em>, organized by the Nway Oo Tea Gathering Family in the San Francisco Bay Area, successfully raised over USD 14,000, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have received a total of USD 14,277 from today\u2019s tea gathering,\u201d the organizers announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a commemorative gesture, donors and supporters were given the opportunity to receive one of four limited-edition calendars honoring Daw Aung San Suu Kyi\u2019s 80th birthday through a lucky draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nway Oo Tea Gathering Family expressed gratitude to all those who contributed through cooking, monetary donations, plant sales, and by purchasing or supporting the event in various ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group continues to provide support to the Spring Revolution and to areas of urgent need inside Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 7. Total of 96 Democracy Activists and Civilians Killed Across Myanmar in April<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data compiled by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), six individuals were arrested for political reasons nationwide during the month of April 2025 as a result of actions by the brutal military regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same period, a total of 96 people\u2014democracy activists and civilians\u2014lost their lives. Among them were four individuals who died in custody under various circumstances after being arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the organization has recorded a separate estimated figure of around 150 deaths during the month which are still pending confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cApril is traditionally the New Year season for Myanmar. But this year, following the devastating natural disaster on March 28 and ongoing man-made tragedies caused by the military regime, the people of Myanmar were robbed of joy and celebration. Although international aid was provided to assist earthquake victims, the military junta lacks both the capacity and sincerity to manage this assistance systematically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When international organizations and the United Nations consider helping the people of Myanmar, they must not limit their support only to those affected by natural disasters. They must also strive to assist those displaced and injured by aerial bombings, heavy artillery attacks, and other atrocities committed by the regime. Providing aid solely to areas under military control amounts to one-sided assistance and, in effect, tacitly grants the junta a license to kill,\u201d said Ko Bo Kyi, Joint Secretary of AAPP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
