Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than stated that some People\u2019s Administrative Bodies have been found to be less committed to the original revolutionary objectives and instead have started prioritizing self-interest and abusing their authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the meeting of the Central Committee for Interim Local Administration Implementation under the National Unity Government (NUG) on April 24, he emphasized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlthough there have been many challenges in implementing interim administrative duties during the revolutionary period, we are grateful to those who have strived to ensure the administrative mechanism does not collapse and to provide public services and protection. However, it is disheartening to witness that some People\u2019s Administrative Bodies are becoming less focused on the founding goals of the revolution and are engaging in power abuse, mismanagement of public funds, and self-serving behavior. We also acknowledge that there are still shortcomings in the government’s supervisory mechanisms.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further added the necessity to re-evaluate and reform the so-called \u201cThree Pillars\u201d system and to ensure that every effort contributes toward achieving meaningful and effective outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than and attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Directors General, and responsible officials from various departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 24, the official social media page of Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than announced that, in commemoration of his 73rd birthday, he had donated meals to members of the People\u2019s Defense Forces (PDF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this commemoration, donations of cooked meat curry were made to the following units:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

500,000 MMK to Strategy (29), Irrawaddy Region<\/p>\n\n\n\n

400,000 MMK to the Yangon Region PDF<\/p>\n\n\n\n

300,000 MMK to the Weapons Production Unit<\/p>\n\n\n\n

300,000 MMK to the Warazin Drone Unit<\/p>\n\n\n\n

500,000 MMK to the Bago Toukyikan Column<\/p>\n\n\n\n

500,000 MMK to Regiment (510) under Military Region (1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

400,000 MMK to the Minbu District PDF<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These donations were distributed to support the morale and sustenance of revolutionary forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has announced that emergency food and temporary shelter assistance are being provided to a total of 13,896 households across 46 townships affected by the recent earthquake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the coordination of the National Unity Government, emergency humanitarian assistance was delivered to earthquake-affected communities in Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Naypyidaw, and southern Shan State. The support was organized through township administrative bodies, People\u2019s Defense Teams, humanitarian focal persons, and civil society organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of April 23, according to the ministry\u2019s relief distribution records, assistance has been provided as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sagaing Region<\/strong>: 4,129 households | MMK 883 million<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mandalay Region<\/strong>: 6,218 households | MMK 1.542 billion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bago Region<\/strong>: 1,322 households | MMK 296 million<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naypyidaw<\/strong>: 803 households | MMK 242 million<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southern Shan State<\/strong>: 1,424 households | MMK 205 million<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This brings the total to 13,896 households across 46 townships<\/strong>, with total expenditures amounting to MMK 3,169,663,730<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to ongoing emergency aid, the ministry stated that collaborative efforts will continue with domestic and international non-governmental organizations to support the early recovery phase in line with sectoral needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 4. Ministry of Labour Assists 73 Myanmar Migrant Workers in Thailand\u2019s Prachinburi District Following Rights Violations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Labour under the National Unity Government (NUG) reported that it has provided assistance to 73 Myanmar migrant workers employed at a garment factory in Prachinburi District, Thailand, who faced violations of their labor rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the ministry, the workers were dismissed without valid reason and had their names \u2014 which had already been approved for employment extension \u2014 withheld from official lists. The workers subsequently contacted the ministry to seek help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case was reported to the Sawatdikan office in Prachinburi District, and as a result of negotiations, factory representatives agreed to reinstate the workers and signed a formal agreement at the Sawatdikan office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry also encouraged workers who face labor rights violations to report their concerns via official email channels or designated social media platforms for further assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assistance has been provided through the Ministry of Women, Youth and Children\u2019s Affairs to households whose homes were damaged or destroyed by the recent earthquake in Sagaing<\/strong> and Mandalay<\/strong> Regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Sagaing Region<\/strong>, support was given to 20 households<\/strong>, including 10 households with severely damaged homes<\/strong> and 10 with minor damage<\/strong>, as well as 3 additional homes<\/strong> with structural impact. In Mandalay Region<\/strong>, aid was extended to 100 households<\/strong> whose homes were destroyed or collapsed due to the quake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each household received the following aid package:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One basket of rice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One liter of cooking oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instant sweetened drinks<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two packs of sanitary pads<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the Sagaing Region monastic compound<\/strong> received one bag of rice and a cash donation of 200,000 MMK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These items were donated by Dr. Phyu Pan Nu Khine and Friends (USA)<\/strong> through the Ministry of Women, Youth and Children\u2019s Affairs<\/strong> under the National Unity Government (NUG)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 6. Pa-O Civil Society Forum Sets Forth Three Key Aspirations Including the Advancement of Pa-O State<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pa-O Civil Society Forum<\/strong>, held over four days in March in Chiang Mai, Thailand<\/strong>, adopted three key aspirations, including the advancement of Pa-O State<\/strong>, according to an official release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum set forth the following aspirations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advancement and development of Pa-O State<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The emergence of a just, equal, and peaceful society<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The establishment of an inclusive education system<\/strong> that reaches all Pa-O people<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To realize these aspirations, seven leading committee members<\/strong> were selected and confirmed from among the forum participants. The forum also announced plans to collaborate with other ethnic organizations in the implementation phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum was attended by 38 participants<\/strong>, comprising representatives from eight Pa-O organizations<\/strong> and individual active stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the discussions, participants addressed the severe challenges facing the Pa-O people<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Living under systematic oppression by authoritarian and military regimes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lack of daily security in their communities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loss of socio-economic rights and opportunities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absence of platforms for meaningful dialogue and problem-solving<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weak unity among political forces<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lack of a shared political vision and aspiration that represents the entire Pa-O community<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 7. Over 90 Tons of Life-Saving Relief Supplies Delivered; Further Distributions Underway, Says EU Yangon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the European Union (EU) in Yangon<\/strong>, more than 90 tons<\/strong> of life-saving relief supplies<\/strong>, totaling over 70,000 items<\/strong>, were delivered by three cargo aircraft<\/strong> on April 18, 19, and 22<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These supplies are being distributed to the most vulnerable communities through the International Organization for Migration (IOM)<\/strong> and its local partner organizations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deliveries were made possible through contributions from Finland<\/strong>, Luxembourg<\/strong>, and the IOM\u2019s global logistics hub<\/strong>. Additional air deliveries, supported by Bulgaria<\/strong> and Sweden<\/strong>, are also being planned in the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the NUG Support Team Japan<\/strong>, more than 3 million Japanese yen<\/strong> in initial donations have been raised in Japan for communities affected by the recent earthquake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fundraising was conducted during Myanmar\u2019s traditional Thingyan New Year Celebration and Donation Event<\/strong> held on April 12 (Saturday)<\/strong> and April 13 (Sunday)<\/strong> in Tokyo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the two-day event, a total of 2,950,096 yen<\/strong> was raised from general donations and specific fundraising efforts for earthquake relief. An additional 50,000 yen<\/strong> was contributed from the Osaka Thingyan Event\u2019s Padauk Flower Donation<\/strong>, bringing the total to 3,000,096 yen<\/strong> in initial emergency donations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These funds will be delivered under the guidance of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management<\/strong> for ongoing humanitarian response efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement also extended heartfelt gratitude to all donors and volunteer contributors for their generous support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
