The People\u2019s Honor Association announced on April 22 that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has been selected as the recipient of the 16th People\u2019s Honor Award<\/strong>, in recognition of her status as a public leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It stated that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, a political prisoner currently under unjust detention and a leader of the people, was selected with deep reverence, respect, and pride by members of various branches of the People’s Honor Association across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The association also mentioned that additional details regarding the award ceremony will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the previous year, 2023, the People\u2019s Honor Award was presented to Senior Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Aris, the youngest son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, conveyed a message of condolence on behalf of his mother following the passing of Pope Francis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The message read:
\u201cWith a deeply sorrowful heart, we mourn the passing of Pope Francis \u2014 a true leader and a genuine friend to the people of Myanmar. On behalf of my mother, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, I extend this heartfelt message of sympathy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Aris also highlighted that the Vatican had historically established full diplomatic relations with Myanmar for the first time ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 3. Second Weekly Graduation Ceremony of Ta\u2019ang Education Academy Successfully Held<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a statement by the Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the second weekly graduation ceremony of the Ta\u2019ang Education Academy (TEA)<\/strong> was successfully held on April 20 at 9:00 AM<\/strong> in Namhsan Township, located in Division (2) of Ta\u2019ang State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was attended by responsible officials from the Ta\u2019ang Literature and Education Committee (TLEC)<\/strong> and the Ta\u2019ang Education Academy (TEA)<\/strong>, as well as two Secretaries-General of the PSLF\/TNLA<\/strong>, including Major Tar Paing La<\/strong>, and members of the Ta\u2019ang Historical Research Group<\/strong> led by Dr. Aung Min Oo<\/strong>. They offered speeches of encouragement, presented awards to outstanding students, and handed out graduation certificates and appointment letters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second weekly intake of TEA, a total of 155 trainees<\/strong> \u2014 128 female and 27 male student-teachers<\/strong> \u2014 completed their training. Following graduation, they will be assigned as teachers in basic education schools established by the Ta\u2019ang Literature and Education Committee (TLEC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 4. \u201cThingyan Water & Wone Campaign\u201d of the New Year Production Project Resumes after Temporary Suspension due to Earthquake<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

April 22<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spring Myanmar Society announced on April 22 that the New Year Production Project campaign titled \u201cThingyan Water & Wone Campaign,\u201d<\/strong> which was temporarily suspended due to the recent earthquake, has resumed operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the statement, the campaign has restarted as of today and will continue for 10 days until the end of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Thingyan Water & Wone” campaign had already surpassed its initial fundraising target of USD 50,000, reaching around USD 63,000<\/strong>. Efforts are now being made to reach the second milestone target of USD 75,000<\/strong> before the end of April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign is aimed at supporting the third wave of operations in flatland regions. Spring Myanmar Society has urged continued participation in the New Year Production Campaign, which seeks to generate dynamic and high-impact productions throughout the new year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 5. Support Forces Recruited at Construction Site in Seoul, South Korea<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 21, MFDMC (Myanmar Federal Democratic Mission Committee) mobilization coordinators visited a construction site in Seoul, South Korea<\/strong>, to recruit support forces, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myanmar nationals working at the site had invited the MFDMC team, who then explained the role of support forces and the functions of MFDMC\u2019s logistical support division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several Myanmar workers at the construction site registered as support force members. They received MFDMC support troop ID cards<\/strong>, and were also provided with important information for Myanmar nationals living in South Korea. The session included Q&A on MFDMC\u2019s activities, shared guidance on the significance of public demonstrations and participation, and encouraged people to get actively involved in the movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MFDMC noted that Myanmar communities in South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, and Japan<\/strong> who wish to serve as critical support forces in the Spring Revolution may also reach out via the official MFDMC page<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
