Even now, the junta continues to bomb those who have already been gravely affected by what is the most catastrophic earthquake to hit Myanmar in over a century,” the statement read.

Furthermore, SAC-M welcomed renewed international focus on Myanmar, as reflected in the 58th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council held earlier this month in Geneva on April 4.

ASEAN, the statement criticized, has completely failed in its efforts to promote peace and security in Myanmar and the region. Earthquake damage disrupts junta’s main servers and communication networks—underground communication hubs reportedly buried

April 21
Radio NUG

The powerful earthquake that struck on March 28 reportedly caused significant damage to the main servers and key communication infrastructure of the military junta, including the loss of underground communication departments stored in caves, according to PDF Insight, a group that monitors and analyzes military affairs.

“The massive earthquake that shook Sagaing on March 28 left the entire country in shock. In response, revolutionary forces, demonstrating humanity and moral discipline, immediately ceased all offensive operations. The junta, on the other hand, only declared a so-called ceasefire on April 2 for the sake of appearance at the BIMSTEC summit,” PDF Insight reported.

“In reality, airstrikes have continued across the country on a daily basis. Although the military has not publicly acknowledged it, internal sources indicate that the quake caused considerable disruption to its operations. Reports suggest that their main servers and communication lines—especially those under the command of the Central Command (K-Bell network)—were severely damaged. Some of their communications hubs stored inside Hlaing caves appear to have been buried. Fearing that the revolutionary forces might exploit this moment of vulnerability, the military has ramped up its bombing campaigns as a preemptive measure.”

PDF Insight further noted that strategic momentum has now shifted, with the military no longer holding the upper hand. The final phase of the armed struggle is now believed to rest in the hands of the National Unity Government (NUG) and Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs).

========================

📌📌 6.
