Four civilians \u2014 including a young child \u2014 and one resistance fighter were killed, and more than ten others injured, following an airstrike carried out by the military junta on Kan Taw Village in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, according to local reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The junta launched the air assault at around 12 noon on April 19<\/strong>, without any preceding clashes or active combat in the area, said the Monywa Township Information Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 11:56 a.m.<\/strong> on April 19, a fighter jet from the junta’s Tada-U Air Base bombed a public forest hut in Kan Taw Village. The strike resulted in the deaths of a 2-year-old child<\/strong>, one resistance fighter<\/strong>, and four members of the fighter\u2019s family<\/strong>, according to local information sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Monywa Information Team emphasized that the airstrike occurred without any armed engagement on the ground. The aircraft dropped bombs and fired rockets indiscriminately at the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the military junta has previously announced a unilateral ceasefire, they have continued launching aerial attacks on civilian homes and children in areas such as Ayadaw, Yinmabin, and Wetlet townships throughout the traditional Myanmar New Year period, from the day before Thingyan to the second day of the Myanmar calendar’s new year. These attacks have resulted in numerous child casualties, the team reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Monywa Information Team further stated that this deliberate bombing by junta fighter aircraft, operated by members of the Tada-U air force, against civilians in the absence of battle, will be documented as a historical record of atrocity committed by the military regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) Commander, Khur Ree Du, has urged all groups not to remain silent or complicit in the face of the junta’s attempts to sow ethnic and religious divisions, but to respond decisively and firmly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He made these remarks during the graduation ceremony of the Basic Military Training Course of SSNDF\/KNDF Tactical Unit 9<\/strong>, held on April 17<\/strong> in southern Shan State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the new graduates, Khur Ree Du stressed that while authoritarian forces must be confronted with unyielding strength \u2014 \u201clike fire\u201d \u2014 civilians must always be treated with compassion and humility \u2014 \u201clike water.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized the importance of firm, fearless, and decisive actions<\/strong> when confronting junta forces, while advocating for respectful and gentle engagement<\/strong> with civilians in all situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KNDF reported that the event was attended by Khur Ree Du<\/strong>, Deputy Commander Min Thar<\/strong>, the Tactical Commander of Unit 9<\/strong>, the Head of Military Strategy<\/strong>, and other KNDF officials, as well as representatives from allied organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 3. Airstrike on Matupi Town Injures Five Civilians Including Pastor, Destroys Homes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 17<\/strong>, the military junta launched an airstrike on Matupi Town<\/strong>, located in southern Chin State, resulting in civilian injuries and property damage, according to The Matupi Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The junta reportedly carried out three separate airstrikes<\/strong> that day: one directly on Matupi Town and two more on an area nearby, all without prior warning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five civilians, including a pastor<\/strong>, were injured in the attack, and several homes were damaged or destroyed. Among the injured, three individuals were members of the pastor’s family<\/strong>, according to sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAbout five civilians were injured. Four of them are still receiving emergency medical treatment. Three of the injured are the pastor, his wife, and his daughter. The pastor sustained serious injuries, including the loss of one leg. All three are in critical condition,\u201d a source from The Matupi Times<\/em> confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of now, the Matupi Township People\u2019s Administration has not released any public statement regarding the attack. The Matupi Times<\/em> continues to follow up on the aftermath, including the extent of property damage and the conditions of the wounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since early April 2025, the junta has escalated aerial attacks on towns such as Mindat<\/strong> and Kanpetlet<\/strong>, areas under the control of Chin resistance forces. The most recent strike targeted Matupi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days earlier, a junta bombing in Mindat Township killed six civilians<\/strong>, including two children<\/strong>, and injured nine others<\/strong>. A major local religious site, the Main Baptist Church in Mindat Town<\/strong>, was also destroyed in the strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An assault using short-range rockets on Ayelar Air Base<\/strong> in Naypyidaw<\/strong> has left six junta soldiers injured<\/strong>, and caused damage to multiple buildings, including an aircraft storage facility<\/strong>, Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM)<\/em> announced today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack, conducted on April 18<\/strong> by BWM<\/strong> in coordination with the Maha Mat Force<\/strong>, involved the launching of three short-range rockets<\/strong> at the air base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of the attack, a building used to store aircraft within the base caught fire<\/strong>, and a security facility inside the compound was also damaged, injuring two junta personnel<\/strong>, BWM stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, a security post located near the runway was hit, leaving four more junta air force guards wounded<\/strong>, they added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although reports from on-ground sources suggest the actual scale of the damage may be greater than currently confirmed, the groups only released information that could be corroborated by multiple sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This strike comes amid a broader wave of military activity and social unrest following the recent earthquake disaster in Sagaing and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
