CDF-KKG Says It Has Captured Junta Bases Between Kalay and Gangaw Within Two Months and Vows to Continue Offensive on Remaining Bases<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 15<\/strong><br><strong>Source: Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chinland Defense Force \u2013 Kalay Kabaw Gangaw (CDF-KKG) has announced that it successfully captured several junta military bases and Pyu Saw Htee strongholds situated between&nbsp;<strong>Kalay<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Gangaw<\/strong>&nbsp;townships within the past two months, and stated that it will continue its military offensives against the remaining junta and Pyu Saw Htee outposts in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, the major offensive operation, launched by CDF-KKG in&nbsp;<strong>February 2025<\/strong>, resulted in the seizure of&nbsp;<strong>Kampaneni<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Hmantaw<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Aung Tharya (East and West)<\/strong>&nbsp;military bases, as well as the&nbsp;<strong>Kyansar Village<\/strong>, which was under the control of Pyu Saw Htee militias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Kampaneni base<\/strong>, considered one of the most fortified outposts between Kalay and Gangaw, was captured on&nbsp;<strong>February 12<\/strong>, and subsequent offensives before&nbsp;<strong>February 15<\/strong>&nbsp;led to the successful seizure of junta camps located in&nbsp;<strong>Hmantaw<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Aung Tharya West<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the clashes, junta forces reportedly launched&nbsp;<strong>19 counter-offensives<\/strong>&nbsp;and carried out&nbsp;<strong>over 1,000 airstrikes<\/strong>, targeting not only resistance forces but also civilian areas with no active conflict. These airstrikes and artillery attacks killed&nbsp;<strong>at least 15 civilians<\/strong>, injured&nbsp;<strong>over 40<\/strong>, and damaged more than&nbsp;<strong>60 buildings<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>hospitals<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>schools<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>religious structures<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>residential homes<\/strong>. Junta Helicopters Bomb Tanapinzin Village in Pauk Township; One Pilot Injured in Resistance Counterattack<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 15<\/strong><br><strong>Source: Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately&nbsp;<strong>9:30 AM on April 14<\/strong>, two junta attack helicopters originating from&nbsp;<strong>Ka Pa Sa 22<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Saikphyu Township<\/strong>&nbsp;bombarded&nbsp;<strong>Tanapinzin Village<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Pauk Township<\/strong>&nbsp;using cluster bombs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The helicopters were engaged by a combined resistance force, including the&nbsp;<strong>Pa Ka Pha units from Pauk, Myaing, and Kamma<\/strong>, and the&nbsp;<strong>Heavy Weapons Battalion<\/strong>, which had prepared an ambush. Junta Soldier Defects After Ambush on Military Column in Salin Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 15<\/strong><br><strong>Source: Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On April 15, a military column from the junta forces that had advanced into&nbsp;<strong>Salin Township<\/strong>&nbsp;was ambushed with&nbsp;<strong>more than ten landmines<\/strong>&nbsp;by the&nbsp;<strong>Daung Nyi Naung Urban Guerrilla Force<\/strong>, causing significant damage and forcing the column to retreat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the incident, a junta soldier identified as&nbsp;<strong>Maung Pho Aye<\/strong>, bearing&nbsp;<strong>military ID number Pa Sa 123927<\/strong>&nbsp;and part of the&nbsp;<strong>5th training intake<\/strong>, reportedly&nbsp;<strong>defected<\/strong>&nbsp;from the military.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He sustained&nbsp;<strong>shrapnel injuries<\/strong>&nbsp;during the ambush and has been&nbsp;<strong>receiving medical treatment and protection<\/strong>&nbsp;from resistance forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;4. Two Junta Soldiers Shot Dead While Buying Alcohol in Nwahtoegyi Town; Weapons and Ammunition Seized<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 15<\/strong><br><strong>Source: Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Nwahtoegyi Town<\/strong>, located in&nbsp;<strong>Myingyan District of Mandalay Region<\/strong>, two junta soldiers were shot dead by resistance fighters while attempting to&nbsp;<strong>purchase alcohol<\/strong>, according to a statement from the&nbsp;<strong>Nwahtoegyi Township People&#8217;s Defense Force<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ambush occurred around&nbsp;<strong>9:30 AM on April 15<\/strong>, when members of the&nbsp;<strong>Nwahtoegyi Pa Ka Pha<\/strong>&nbsp;engaged the soldiers using&nbsp;<strong>two handguns<\/strong>. Both junta soldiers were killed on the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resistance fighters seized&nbsp;<strong>two MA-11 assault rifles<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>three magazines<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>eighty-five rounds of 5.56mm ammunition<\/strong>, and were able to&nbsp;<strong>safely withdraw<\/strong>&nbsp;from the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the junta\u2019s declaration of a ceasefire, its forces continue to&nbsp;<strong>routinely bomb and shell villages<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>religious buildings<\/strong>&nbsp;across Nwahtoegyi Township using&nbsp;<strong>aircraft, helicopters, and drones<\/strong>, prompting local civilians to remain on high alert, according to the local Pa Ka Pha unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5. Junta Informant\u2019s Wife Shot Dead During Clearance Operation in Banbwe Kone Village<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 14<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Banbwe Kone Village, part of Ywarkone Village Tract in Minhla Township, Thayarwaddy District, Bago Region, local resistance fighters attempted to eliminate a junta informant known as a&nbsp;<em>Pyusawhti<\/em>. However, during the clearance operation, the informant evaded capture and fled, while his wife was killed in the encounter, according to Battalion 3802, Column 2 under the Thayarwaddy District Command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately 9:30 p.m. on April 13, members of Battalion 3802, Column 2, approached the home of Pyusawhti member&nbsp;<strong>Tun Tun Win<\/strong>, a resident of Banbwe Kone Village, to carry out the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the attempted arrest,&nbsp;<strong>Tun Tun Win<\/strong>&nbsp;reportedly escaped by jumping from the back of the house and fired gunshots in retaliation as he fled. His wife also reportedly fought back using a hand grenade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to the counterattack, the wife\u2014identified as&nbsp;<strong>Ma Saw Oo<\/strong>, a former Pyusawhti training graduate\u2014was shot three times and died on the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, both husband and wife were accused of providing intelligence about resistance fighters to the junta, spreading misinformation among civilians, and facilitating arrests on behalf of the military regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>6. Six Civilians Killed in Junta Airstrike on Monastery in Kamni Village, Kyone Doe Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 15<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around 12 p.m. on April 15, a monastery in&nbsp;<strong>Kamni Village<\/strong>, Kyone Doe Township, under Kawkareik District, was bombed by a junta aircraft, resulting in the deaths of approximately&nbsp;<strong>six civilians<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bombs struck and exploded near a Probox vehicle, killing the driver and other civilians on board. Civilians who had gathered at the monastery for observance of Buddhist precepts on the eve of Thingyan were also among the dead and injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The death toll may continue to rise. In recent days, junta troops from Light Infantry Battalions (LIB) 545 and 546 and strategic command bases near Kyone Doe have been shelling villages near the township\u2014such as Yepu Gyi, Kaw Wale, Win Pya, Naung Taman, Thamine Dwat, Taung Kan Pyite, Migalon, and Kamni\u2014with heavy artillery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the night of April 14, SAC troops have also launched attacks on villages along the Kyone Doe road using&nbsp;<strong>Howitzer self-propelled artillery<\/strong>, and in response, joint KNLA-allied forces have reportedly launched counteroffensives near&nbsp;<strong>Yinkwe Taung<\/strong>, close to Central Command HQ (SAC Command 12).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>7. Three Injured, Including Child Monk, in Junta Airstrike on Yelai Monastery in Nwahtoe Gyi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 15<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around 6 p.m. on April 14,&nbsp;<strong>Yelai Monastery<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Nwahtoe Gyi Township<\/strong>&nbsp;was struck by two bombs dropped by junta aircraft, injuring&nbsp;<strong>three individuals<\/strong>\u2014including a&nbsp;<strong>7-year-old novice monk<\/strong>&nbsp;and a senior monk. The monastery building was also destroyed by fire, according to local reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The junta launched the airstrike using a&nbsp;<strong>jet fighter<\/strong>, dropping two bombs on the&nbsp;<strong>Yelai Monastery<\/strong>, located in&nbsp;<strong>Kyundaw Village<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the injured was&nbsp;<strong>U Thayawara<\/strong>, a 54-year-old senior monk, who sustained serious injuries. The others injured were a&nbsp;<strong>7-year-old novice monk<\/strong>&nbsp;and a&nbsp;<strong>20-year-old man<\/strong>&nbsp;working as monastery staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>8. Eight Civilians, Including Children, Injured in Junta Attacks in Kawkareik Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 14<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Karen National Union (KNU),&nbsp;<strong>eight civilians<\/strong>, including children, were injured due to junta attacks in&nbsp;<strong>Kawkareik Township<\/strong>, under Dupalaya District, Kaw Thoo Lei-administered territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around&nbsp;<strong>6 p.m. on April 10<\/strong>, junta forces stationed in Kawkareik launched a&nbsp;<strong>drone attack<\/strong>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong>Maungmaw Ywar Thit Village<\/strong>, dropping bombs on the civilian area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drone strike injured a&nbsp;<strong>10-year-old girl<\/strong>, a&nbsp;<strong>55-year-old man<\/strong>, and a&nbsp;<strong>50-year-old woman<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, at approximately&nbsp;<strong>10:27 p.m. on April 8<\/strong>, junta troops stationed in Kawkareik fired&nbsp;<strong>120mm and 122mm heavy artillery<\/strong>&nbsp;into&nbsp;<strong>Ankone<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Kyaitthaloik<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Dawplan<\/strong>&nbsp;villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shelling injured a&nbsp;<strong>40-year-old man<\/strong>, a&nbsp;<strong>26-year-old man<\/strong>, a&nbsp;<strong>14-year-old girl<\/strong>, and two young boys aged&nbsp;<strong>9 and 6<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>9.
