The event was jointly organized by the Istituto Alcide Cervi<\/strong>, Museo Cervi<\/strong>, Associazione per l’Amicizia Italia-Birmania<\/strong>, and the Myanmar Community in Italy<\/strong> to express solidarity between the peoples of Italy and Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government (NUG), Daw Zin Mar Aung<\/strong>, and Union Minister for Education and Health, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe<\/strong>, attended the event and delivered speeches. The assistance follows the devastating earthquake centered in Sagaing City, which struck in the afternoon of March 28 and resulted in the deaths of thousands of people. In the immediate aftermath, the NUG launched emergency response and rescue operations to address the crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NUG had allocated a total of one million US dollars for the earthquake response. Of that amount, over USD 143,000 has already been used for direct relief efforts for affected civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to the recent earthquake in central Myanmar, which caused significant loss and forced many to flee their homes, the Japanese government has approved the provision of emergency relief supplies\u2014including water storage tanks and rescue tents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These items will be delivered under Japan\u2019s \u201cGrant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects\u201d and its cooperation program for environmental safety, according to the Embassy of Japan in Yangon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The emergency supplies are intended for displaced individuals currently taking refuge in monastic schools across the Mandalay Region. The assistance aims to ensure that monks, nuns, students, and young children residing in these temporary shelters can live in safe, healthy, and hygienic conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
