The human rights representatives then presented their findings and engaged in discussions with relevant ministries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The topics covered included&nbsp;<strong>judicial challenges<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>interim governance issues<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>airstrike defense concerns<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>human rights education initiatives<\/strong>. Political Prisoners in Myanmar Face Fatal Consequences Due to Lack of Proper Healthcare<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>March 25<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP)<\/strong>&nbsp;reported that political prisoners detained in Myanmar\u2019s prisons are experiencing&nbsp;<strong>fatalities<\/strong>&nbsp;due to inadequate healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One such case involved&nbsp;<strong>Ko Thiha<\/strong>, a political prisoner held in&nbsp;<strong>Mandalay\u2019s Obo Prison<\/strong>. He suffered from&nbsp;<strong>throat cancer<\/strong>&nbsp;but was denied&nbsp;<strong>adequate medical care<\/strong>. On&nbsp;<strong>March 21, 2025, at approximately 4:00 AM<\/strong>, he passed away in prison. Although his family was informed of his death, authorities&nbsp;<strong>did not return his body<\/strong>&nbsp;to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ko Thiha was arrested in&nbsp;<strong>2023<\/strong>&nbsp;by the military regime and charged under&nbsp;<strong>Counterterrorism Law Sections 52(a) and 50(j)<\/strong>. He was sentenced to&nbsp;<strong>14 years in prison<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the military coup, a total of&nbsp;<strong>28,924 individuals<\/strong>&nbsp;have been arrested in connection with the resistance. Among them,&nbsp;<strong>22,133<\/strong>&nbsp;remain in detention, with&nbsp;<strong>10,709<\/strong>&nbsp;having been sentenced to imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc<strong>&nbsp;3. UN Human Rights Council Urged Not to Turn a Blind Eye to Myanmar\u2019s Situation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>March 25<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mr. Tom Andrews, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Myanmar<\/strong>, has urged&nbsp;<strong>UN Human Rights Council member states and UN agencies<\/strong>&nbsp;not to ignore Myanmar\u2019s crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his report presented at the&nbsp;<strong>Human Rights Council<\/strong>, Mr. Tom Andrews&nbsp;<strong>clearly and forcefully<\/strong>&nbsp;outlined the ongoing human rights violations, calling for international action. His report detailed&nbsp;<strong>the worsening humanitarian situation<\/strong>&nbsp;and emphasized the&nbsp;<strong>need for urgent global attention<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Myanmar\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>NUG Minister for Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min<\/strong>, reiterated this message, emphasizing that&nbsp;<strong>the junta has intensified airstrikes targeting civilians since 2024<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>deliberate attacks on hospitals, schools, and religious sites<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the NUG\u2019s Ministry of Human Rights, the military regime has escalated&nbsp;<strong>indiscriminate aerial bombings<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>brutal assaults on civilian infrastructure<\/strong>\u2014a concern that Mr. Tom Andrews strongly highlighted in his report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>4. TNLA Reports 30 Drug Users Arrested in Namkham Township Within Three Months<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>March 24<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) reported that 30 drug users were arrested in Namkham Township over the past three months. Similarly, the Ta\u2019ang Police Force of the Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF\/TNLA) apprehended five drug users in Namkham Township, under the jurisdiction of Brigade 4 in Ta\u2019angland, during March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 13, a 33-year-old man named U A Hla was arrested at a checkpoint in Kyu Saw while undergoing inspection. Likewise, on March 17, Ta\u2019ang Police, in cooperation with local authorities, arrested four individuals\u2014Sai Kham Pan, U Maung Kyaw, U Aik Aung, and Aik Kam\u2014in Man Sar village, Pan Lon village tract, after receiving reports that they were using methamphetamine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TNLA stated that these individuals would be prosecuted in accordance with drug laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>5. Battalion No. 2 in Dawei District Launches &#8220;Emergency Life-Saving Vehicle&#8221; Campaign for Injured Comrades<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>March 25<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Battalion No. 2 of the People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF) in Dawei District has launched the &#8220;Emergency Life-Saving Vehicle&#8221; campaign to provide immediate transport for injured comrades in frontline situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The battalion reported that an emergency vehicle is urgently needed to fulfill this role. The campaign will run from March 25 to April 25, during which public donations will be collected. The event is organized by the Korea-based Committee Against Military Dictatorship and aims to raise funds to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the conflict in Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;As in previous years, a variety of delicious Myanmar traditional snacks will be prepared and sold by donors and revolutionary groups to raise funds.
