Meeting Between Organizations Assisting Myanmar Migrant Workers in Thailand and Officials from the National Unity Government\u2019s Ministry of Labor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 18<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A meeting was held between officials from the National Unity Government\u2019s Ministry of Labor, led by Director U Naing Htun Oo, and organizations working on issues related to Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, Ministry of Labor officials discussed with these organizations the current challenges faced by Myanmar migrant workers in different regions and explored possible solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was also noted that reports of labor rights violations can be submitted via email and social media applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For email complaints, reports can be sent to&nbsp;<strong>complaint@molmyanmar.org<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc<strong>&nbsp;2. Myanmar Spring University to Begin Collecting Admission Fees from Students<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 18<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the decision made in the Myanmar Spring University Council\u2019s meeting on&nbsp;<strong>March 17, 2025<\/strong>, the university has announced that it will begin collecting&nbsp;<strong>admission fees<\/strong>&nbsp;from students starting&nbsp;<strong>March 18, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This applies to students currently enrolling in the&nbsp;<strong>Sixth Batch (First Time)<\/strong>&nbsp;as well as those already attending the university, including students from&nbsp;<strong>First Batch, Second Batch, Third Batch, Uni Entrance (1st), and Uni Entrance (2nd)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students transitioning to the&nbsp;<strong>next semester<\/strong>, whether by completing a semester or passing a course, will be required to pay an&nbsp;<strong>admission fee of 10,000 MMK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For newly enrolled&nbsp;<strong>Sixth Batch students<\/strong>, fees will be as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Regular full-time students<\/strong>:&nbsp;<strong>10,000 MMK<\/strong>&nbsp;per semester<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Distance learning students<\/strong>:&nbsp;<strong>20,000 MMK<\/strong>&nbsp;for two semesters<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The university will soon announce the&nbsp;<strong>payment link<\/strong>&nbsp;for these fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, students who need official documents such as&nbsp;<strong>Student Certificates, transcripts, or degree certificates<\/strong>&nbsp;must pay&nbsp;<strong>10,000 MMK per request<\/strong>. Proceeds from the Sale of Professor Sean Turnell\u2019s&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><em>Best Laid Plans<\/em><\/strong><strong>&nbsp;and Its Burmese Translation&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><em>Shwe Yaung Si Man Kyaing Myar<\/em><\/strong><strong>&nbsp;to Be Donated to the Suu 80th Birthday Campaign<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 18<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has been announced that the proceeds from the sales of Professor Sean Turnell\u2019s original book,&nbsp;<em>Best Laid Plans<\/em>, and its Burmese translation,&nbsp;<em>Shwe Yaung Si Man Kyaing Myar<\/em>&nbsp;(Golden Economic Plans), will be donated to the&nbsp;<strong>Suu 80th Birthday Campaign<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At an event held at&nbsp;<strong>St. James Church in Queens, New York<\/strong>, Professor Sean Turnell personally signed copies of his books for attendees. The event was attended by&nbsp;<strong>Kim, the son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi<\/strong>, along with Professor Sean Turnell and members of the Myanmar community in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of&nbsp;<strong>330 books<\/strong>&nbsp;were sold at the event, including&nbsp;<strong>80 copies of the original English version<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>250 copies of the Burmese translation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After deducting production costs, a total of&nbsp;<strong>USD 2,550<\/strong>&nbsp;was donated to the&nbsp;<strong>Suu 80th Birthday Campaign<\/strong>, facilitated by the&nbsp;<strong>H2B group<\/strong>&nbsp;and Kim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc<strong>&nbsp;4. 72 People Killed Nationwide in Military Junta\u2019s Mass Executions and Burnings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 18<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to data collected by the&nbsp;<strong>Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP)<\/strong>, from&nbsp;<strong>January 1, 2024, to March 18, 2025<\/strong>, a total of&nbsp;<strong>72 people<\/strong>&nbsp;were confirmed to have been killed by Myanmar\u2019s military junta in brutal executions and burnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>42 people<\/strong>&nbsp;who were burned alive<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>30 people<\/strong>&nbsp;who were executed and their bodies burned afterward<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the recorded deaths,&nbsp;<strong>Sagaing Region<\/strong>&nbsp;had the highest number of casualties, with&nbsp;<strong>24 victims<\/strong>, followed by&nbsp;<strong>Magway Region<\/strong>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<strong>20 victims<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Between&nbsp;<strong>March 7 and March 12, 2025<\/strong>, the military raided and occupied&nbsp;<strong>Thargon Village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region<\/strong>, where they captured, tortured, and brutally executed&nbsp;<strong>eight civilians<\/strong>.
