The military junta, which recently abandoned a border outpost along the Thai-Myanmar border, launched three drone attacks early this morning (March 18) on the central headquarters of the Karen National Union (KNU), according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attacks occurred at 3:45 AM, 4:01 AM, and 4:14 AM Thai Standard Time, targeting the administrative offices of Brigade 7 Headquarters. Padoh Saw Aung Maw Aye, the chairman of the Hpa-An District, confirmed the incident, stating that no casualties or structural damage resulted from the explosions. The Karen Information Center (KIC) also reported the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the attack trajectory, the drones were launched from the Shan Ywa Thit area in Hlaingbwe Township, Hpa-An District, and directed at Brigade 7 Headquarters. The intense explosions caused widespread panic among residents, forcing many to take shelter inside their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks the third drone attack on Brigade 7 Headquarters. Similar drone assaults occurred on October 22, 2024, and January 31, 2025 (Karen National Resistance Day). Since 2024, military activities have escalated in Brigade 7\u2019s territory. Notably, on March 12, 2025, joint KNLA forces captured a junta outpost in Paingkyon Township, Hpa-An District, increasing security concerns in the region, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Burma People\u2019s Liberation Army (BPLA) has launched a fundraising campaign to support the training of a full batch of recruits in celebration of its 4th anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“BPLA emerged alongside the Spring Revolution, and next month marks our fourth anniversary. During this time, with public support, we have successfully expanded into a new military region and engaged in multiple battles alongside our allies in two other regions. Every year, as our anniversary approaches, we call upon the public for support. This year, we are organizing a fundraising campaign specifically to finance the training of new revolutionary soldiers,” BPLA announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign, running from March 17 to April 17, aims to secure funds to cover training expenses for a full batch of recruits. Each trainee\u2019s three-month course costs approximately 1 million Myanmar kyats, covering uniforms, personal supplies, and rations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice For Myanmar (JFM) has issued a call to action, urging the public to sign an emergency petition against Airbus over its business ties with Myanmar\u2019s military junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The French aerospace giant Airbus is indirectly supporting the Myanmar military’s war crimes through its investments. However, halting these operations could significantly cut off resources fueling the junta\u2019s terror campaign. At this critical moment, the aviation industry is struggling, and the last thing Airbus needs is public outrage over its complicity in war crimes. That\u2019s why we must unite and collectively demand accountability,” the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JFM has called on the public to participate in the petition drive, emphasizing the urgency of pressuring Airbus to sever all ties with the junta. The petition is now circulating on social media platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), a total of 6,406<\/strong> democracy activists and civilians have lost their lives due to the military junta and its affiliates since the illegal coup on February 1, 2021<\/strong>, until March 17, 2025<\/strong> during the Spring Revolution period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, a total of 28,861<\/strong> individuals have been arrested in connection with the coup, among whom 22,077<\/strong> remain in detention. Among those detained, 10,642<\/strong> have already been sentenced to prison terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
