Myanmar Ambassador to the UN Meets Ko Htein Lin, Son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>March 15<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ko Htein Lin, the youngest son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who is currently in the United States for the&nbsp;<em>Suu 80th Birthday Campaign<\/em>, visited the Myanmar Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York today and met with Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, according to sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting at the Myanmar Mission to the UN, Ko Htein Lin presented the ambassador with a commemorative calendar published for&nbsp;<em>Suu 80th Birthday<\/em>, as confirmed by those accompanying him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun inquired about Ko Htein Lin&#8217;s ongoing activities and expressed his wishes for the campaign\u2019s success, stating that he would provide any necessary assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 13, Ko Htein Lin also participated in a UN event at the UN Headquarters in New York, where he emphasized the issue of&nbsp;<em>Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)<\/em>&nbsp;among women and children affected by the ongoing conflict in Myanmar. Additionally, he discussed in detail the number of people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance and Myanmar\u2019s current situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this trip, Ko Htein Lin has been prioritizing efforts to secure the release of all unjustly detained political prisoners, including his mother, and to ensure that conflict-affected civilians in Myanmar receive immediate humanitarian aid. Report on Human Rights Violations by the Military Junta in February 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>March 15<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Unity Government (NUG)\u2019s Ministry of Human Rights has documented a total of&nbsp;<strong>604<\/strong>&nbsp;human rights violations committed by the military junta in February 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sagaing Region recorded the highest number of violations, with&nbsp;<strong>124<\/strong>&nbsp;documented cases, including&nbsp;<strong>68<\/strong>&nbsp;airstrikes, making it the most heavily targeted area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry has systematically recorded additional data on casualties and destruction resulting from these violations. Resistance Forces Intercept Military Convoy Returning from Shwebo, Seizing Cooking Oil Supplies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>March 15<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF) of Shwebo Township<\/em>&nbsp;reported that resistance forces intercepted and attacked a military convoy returning from Shwebo with supplies, seizing containers of cooking oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to sources, a military unit of approximately&nbsp;<strong>50 troops<\/strong>&nbsp;transported supplies from villages in&nbsp;<em>Pyusawhti<\/em>-controlled areas such as&nbsp;<strong>Zee Phyu Kone, Pan Yan, and Zee Kone Lay<\/strong>&nbsp;in three military trucks. Upon receiving intelligence, resistance forces launched an ambush on March 14 at around 3:40 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack took place along the&nbsp;<em>Shwebo-Ye U Road<\/em>, lasting over an hour. One of the junta\u2019s military trucks veered off the road and into a roadside ditch, forcing the soldiers to flee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the attack, resistance forces seized a supply truck carrying&nbsp;<strong>six 10-gallon containers of cooking oil<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>several plastic containers<\/strong>&nbsp;of additional supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While casualties were reported among the junta\u2019s troops, the exact number could not be independently verified.
