The fifth annual ceremony of Taw Bayar Lay literary award was held at the home of the author Taw Bayar Lay (deceased) on Shwe Dagon pagoda road, at 10 am, yesterday morning. As the permit to host the ceremony in other places was not granted by authority concerned, the event has been, since the third time, organized in cramped conditions of his home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maung Lwin Mon (kathar) acted as master of ceremonies and Saya Htet Myet read the report of the literary award scrutinizing body.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe did not invite anybody. Our fellow writers and friends heard the news and attended. To give Taw Bayar Lay literary award, we only choose the books that are published with the permission of government censorship board, and that agree with the criteria of award selecting team. We hope that we will be, in coming years, able to hold the ceremony in more comfortable places, like a hotel,\u201d said Saya Htet Myet.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the ceremony, \u201cMoe Twe Your Nay Tae,\u201d a collection of short stories by Ngwe Zin Yaw Oo (Moegoat) (Sait Ku Cho Cho publishing house\/first edition in 2010), was awarded the best for short story category and a prize went to the non-fiction article collection by Saya Moe Hein \u201cSima Htoe Kwei Mapit Panar Masat Thou Taw Naing The\u201d (Thiha Yatanar publishing home\/ first edition on 10.12.2010).<\/span><\/p>\n

In the ceremony, Saya Arnt Maung awarded the prize to Daw Than Than Tin, on behalf Ngwe Zin Yaw Oo, who could not attend it. The prize for Saya Moe Hein (Thar Journal Gyaw) was given to his wife Daw Kyi Kyi Nu by Daw Khin May, the wife of Taw Bayar Lay.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the ceremony, giving the titles such as, \u201c The Politician Taw Bayar Lay, The Author Taw Bayar Lay, Taw Bayar lay is really human,\u201d Saya U Win Tin recounted the experience that he and Taw Bayar Lay went through together.<\/span><\/p>\n
