Approximately ten other people were injured.

The attack also destroyed the school and five houses in fires. One bomb reportedly exploded directly in front of the headmistress’s residence, killing four of the five people living in the house.

In a separate incident in Wetlet Township, military aircraft reportedly dropped 250-pound bombs in two attacks on a shelter for internally displaced people in a forest north of Sakhan Thar Village shortly after midnight on November 7. Three civilians were injured.

Meanwhile, in Salingyi Township, military junta troops conducting operations in the area reportedly raided Kyaing Khamauk Village on the afternoon of November 6 and set fire to hundreds of houses.

Local residents said thousands of civilians from Kyaing Khamauk and surrounding villages had been forced to flee their homes as the military column continued its operations.

Numerous residential buildings were reportedly destroyed by fire.

Three Civilians, Including a Child and a Person with a Disability, Killed in Military Airstrike on Mazaw Village in KNU Territory

m.CDM | November 7, 2026

Three civilians, including a child and a person with a disability, were killed, and seven others were injured when Myanmar’s military carried out an airstrike on Mazaw Village in the Karen National Union’s (KNU) Myeik-Dawei District, according to a statement released by the KNU district authorities.

The attack took place on the morning of November 6 in Mazaw Village, located in Ler Mu Lah Township under KNU administration.

According to the KNU, the military deployed one fighter jet and three gyrocopters in the attack.

The three people killed were a child aged over ten, a person with a disability, and a woman.

The airstrike also damaged a residential house, a preschool building, and a motorcycle.

The KNU stated that civilian casualties have continued to increase as the military carries out repeated aerial bombardments in KNU-controlled territories.

The organization has repeatedly accused the military of committing war crimes, including attacks on civilians using aircraft, drones, and artillery, as well as the arbitrary arrest and killing of civilians.

The KNU also criticized the military for failing to comply with ASEAN’s Five-Point Consensus, which calls for an immediate cessation of violence and efforts toward a peaceful resolution of Myanmar’s crisis.

Junta Soldier Captured Alive in Myawaddy; Resistance Forces Lose Temporary Base in Kyaikto; Nighttime Checkpoints to Close in Three Sagaing Townships

m.CDM | November 7, 2026

Joint resistance forces reportedly attacked a military junta column advancing toward Min Let Pan Village in the Phalu area of Myawaddy Township, Karen State, early on November 7.

Following the confrontation, the junta troops reportedly suffered losses and retreated.

Resistance forces pursued the withdrawing soldiers and captured one wounded soldier alive, along with an MA-4 rifle. The soldier had reportedly been injured by a landmine.

The resistance forces reported no casualties on their side.

However, artillery shells from the fighting again landed across the border in Thailand, damaging three houses belonging to Thai residents.

Meanwhile, in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, fighting broke out on November 5 between junta troops and resistance forces near Khamauk Khwe Village.

According to reports, the military launched an offensive with superior troop strength, forcing resistance forces to withdraw from their positions.

As a result, a temporary resistance base near Khamauk Khwe Village fell into junta hands.

Resistance forces said they had already relocated important equipment from the base before withdrawing.

However, pro-junta propaganda channels claimed that military personnel had seized homemade landmines and other military equipment from the abandoned position.

The military has reportedly been conducting operations in Kyaikto Township with more than 1,200 troops since November 3.

More than 15,000 local residents have reportedly fled their homes to escape the fighting.

In another development, resistance organizations announced that their checkpoints in Sagaing, Myinmu, and Myaung townships in Sagaing Region would close during nighttime hours beginning November 9.

The restrictions are intended to strengthen security and law enforcement.

Travel through these checkpoints will be prohibited between 6:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

Emergency ambulances will be allowed to pass if advance notification is provided.

Two Police Officers Defect with Weapons in Taungtha; 73 Defectors, Surrendered Personnel, and Prisoners of War Recorded in October

m.CDM | November 7, 2026

Two police officers from Hmawbi Police Battalion No. 5, operating under Myanmar’s military authorities, reportedly contacted the Taungtha People’s Defense Force (TTA-PDF) and defected on November 6.

The officers surrendered with their weapons and ammunition.

According to the resistance group, the two defectors were welcomed, given financial rewards, and transported to a safe location.

Meanwhile, the People’s Goal organization reported that a total of 73 military and police personnel either defected, surrendered, or were captured as prisoners of war during October.

The figure included eleven soldiers and one police officer who defected from Rakhine State, Naypyidaw, Sagaing Region, Magway Region, and Yangon Region.

Another 61 personnel were reportedly captured during fighting.

Among those who defected or were captured, three defecting soldiers and sixteen prisoners of war were identified as individuals who had been forcibly recruited into military service.

According to People’s Goal, a total of 4,110 military personnel had defected or been captured as prisoners of war between January 2025 and the end of October 2026.

Despite these defections and captures, Myanmar Defense and Security Institute (MDSI) reported that the military had forcibly recruited more than 140,000 young people and deployed them to front-line battlefields, where they were allegedly used as human shields.

The report also described severe abuses against forcibly recruited soldiers.

These reportedly included beatings that could result in death for attempting to escape, punitive tattooing, and the classification of soldiers killed in combat as deserters.

More Than 200 Civilians Killed in Junta Airstrikes During October; NUG and Civil Society Groups Strengthen Human Rights Documentation

m.CDM | November 7, 2026

Myanmar’s military carried out 641 aerial bombing attacks during October, killing 212 civilians, including 23 children, according to figures released by the National Unity Government’s Department of Human Rights.

The department also documented nine incidents of mass killings, 261 cases of forced recruitment or arbitrary detention for military service, and 556 human rights violations during the month.

One of the most serious incidents occurred on October 16 in Thit Gyi Taw Village, Yesagyo Township.

An airstrike on a Starlink internet facility reportedly killed twelve people, including two children and two teachers, and injured nineteen others.

In response to these alleged atrocities, the NUG called on the international community to immediately cut off aviation fuel supplies to the military.

It also urged international legal action through the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), as well as the direct delivery of humanitarian assistance to local organizations.

To strengthen the systematic documentation of human rights violations, the NUG Department of Human Rights held an online meeting with ten civil society organizations involved in collecting evidence during the first week of November.

Participants reportedly agreed to improve the systematic storage of field information using the Uwazi Database, develop data dashboards, and share documented evidence with international organizations.

The department also held separate discussions with women’s rights organizations.

These discussions focused on documenting sexual violence and coordinating public awareness activities during the upcoming 16 Days of Activism campaign.

<ol Forces

m.CDM | November 7, 2026

Rice was distributed to local residents in the Mong Yu 105-Mile area of Muse Township, northern Shan State, to commemorate the 48th birthday of Arakan Army (AA) Commander-in-Chief General Tun Myat Naing.

The distribution took place at approximately 9:00 a.m. on November 7 at the Mong Yu 105-Mile Committee Office.

According to reports, an Arakan Army official from the Fire Dragon Military Region led the distribution of 220 bags of rice, each containing ten pyi, a traditional Myanmar unit of volume, to local residents and displaced people.

The Arakan Army reportedly controls more than 90 percent of Rakhine State’s territory and continues military offensives aimed at capturing the remaining towns of Sittwe, Kyaukphyu, and Manaung.

Meanwhile, Maung Saungkha, commander of the Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA), praised General Tun Myat Naing as a leader who wants armed organizations formed during Myanmar’s Spring Revolution to develop and succeed.

Maung Saungkha also extended birthday wishes to the AA commander, expressing hope that he would enjoy many more years of good health and safety.

He further wished for the swift establishment of an Arakan nation based on freedom, justice, and equality.

Philippine Court of Appeals Accepts Petition Concerning War Crimes Complaint Against Min Aung Hlaing and Nine Other Military Leaders

m.CDM | November 7, 2026

The Philippine Court of Appeals has accepted and formally registered a petition seeking an investigation into a war crimes complaint filed against Myanmar military leader Min Aung Hlaing and nine other senior military officers, according to the Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO).

The case concerns alleged war crimes committed by Myanmar’s military against civilians in Chin State.

In October 2023, CHRO filed a criminal complaint with the Philippine Department of Justice (DOJ) against Min Aung Hlaing and nine other military officers.

The complaint accused the military leaders of responsibility for serious violations of international humanitarian law.

After the Philippine DOJ declined to pursue the complaint, CHRO submitted a petition to the Court of Appeals challenging that decision.

According to CHRO, the court formally accepted and registered the petition on November 3.

CHRO Executive Director Salai Za Uk welcomed the court’s decision to register the petition concerning the complaint previously rejected by the Department of Justice.

He called on the relevant Philippine authorities to take further action as quickly as possible.

Gilbert Andres, one of the lawyers representing the Chin complainants, said the case presents an opportunity for the Philippine judicial system to apply the principle of universal jurisdiction to serious violations of international law and alleged war crimes.

He explained that Philippine national courts could exercise their responsibilities independently under the country’s International Humanitarian Law.

The original criminal complaint focuses primarily on events in Thantlang, Chin State, during 2021.

It alleges that Myanmar’s military deliberately targeted civilians, burned residential neighborhoods, and destroyed civilian property, forcing tens of thousands of people to flee their homes.

CHRO has also pursued legal action against Myanmar’s military leadership in Timor-Leste.

Earlier this year, the organization submitted a criminal complaint to Timor-Leste’s Office of the Prosecutor General seeking an investigation into alleged war crimes committed by Myanmar’s military authorities.

The complaint was reportedly accepted for examination by Timor-Leste’s judicial authorities.

The Philippine court’s acceptance and registration of the petition represents a procedural development. It does not mean the accused military leaders have been convicted or that the underlying war crimes allegations have been judicially established.

Shells Fired from Myanmar Again Land in Thailand Despite Repeated Warnings, Damaging Homes in Mae Sot

m.CDM | November 7, 2026

Artillery shells fired from the Myanmar side of the border have once again landed inside Thailand, damaging several houses in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, despite repeated warnings from Thai authorities, according to local media reports.

Fighting has continued between Myanmar’s military and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) near Min Let Pan and Phalu villages on the Myanmar side of the Thai-Myanmar border.

Shells fired during the clashes reportedly landed in Mae Sot District early on November 7, damaging civilian homes.

Thai news outlets confirmed that shells had landed in the Maha Wan subdistrict of Mae Sot.

No injuries were reported.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., following instructions from the Mae Sot district chief, a joint security team visited the affected locations.

The inspection team included district security officials, local administrative defense volunteers, soldiers from the Ratchamanu Task Force, Border Patrol Police officers, and village administrative authorities.

The officials inspected the damaged homes and continued monitoring the fighting along the border.

Ten-Day Meditation Retreat to Provide Emotional Support for Families of Political Prisoners

m.CDM | November 7, 2026

Eat My Heart has announced that it will soon organize the second edition of its ten-day meditation retreat, titled Nyein Say – Ten-Day Retreat for Emotional Strength, to help families of political prisoners restore their emotional well-being.

The program is specifically intended for parents and family members of political prisoners who have endured nearly five years of hardship while supporting their imprisoned loved ones.

According to the organizers, meditation and participation in a retreat are not merely religious practices.

They can also provide a supportive environment for families whose lives have been severely disrupted by imprisonment, uncertainty, and prolonged hardship.

Eat My Heart acknowledged that attending a meditation retreat would not directly resolve the personal problems, financial difficulties, or daily challenges these families face.

However, the organization believes the program could help participants develop new perspectives, approach their difficulties differently, and strengthen their emotional resilience.

The initiative is also intended to offer elderly parents who have spent nearly five years struggling through the difficult process of visiting and supporting their imprisoned children an opportunity to experience ten days of peace and emotional relief.

The organizers emphasized that these parents deserve a period of rest, comfort, and emotional restoration after years of hardship.

Closing

That concludes today’s m.CDM domestic news bulletin.

The reports presented today were contributed by Ko Thit and Lu Lay.

Thank you for joining us.

For the latest news and updates from Myanmar, please subscribe to our channel.

We appreciate your continued support.

Good day, everyone.
