They do so both because of the threat of airstrikes and because this is the agricultural working season.

The activists group said the military deliberately targeted these civilian farming shelters.

Revolutionary organizations have warned that Myanmar’s military has repeatedly conducted airstrikes against civilian communities, including villages, religious buildings, and schools.

With the Thadingyut festival approaching, resistance groups have urged residents to avoid large gatherings, remain alert to possible air attacks, and take necessary precautions for their safety.

Three Civilians Killed in Gyrocopter Bombing in Myaing; Nine Injured in Airstrikes on Pauktaw

m.CDM | October 24, 2026

Three civilians were killed instantly when Myanmar’s military carried out bombing attacks using three gyrocopters near Taung Yoe village in Myaing Township, Magway Region.

According to a statement from the Anyar Myay Coalition, the attack occurred at approximately 10 a.m. on October 24.

The group said military aircraft deliberately bombed civilians working on farmland despite there being no fighting in the area.

Bombs struck a residential house, killing a 60-year-old man, his daughter-in-law in her thirties, and a male visitor believed to be around 40 years old.

Three children inside the house, including a 10-month-old infant, were also injured and are receiving medical treatment.

Meanwhile, in Rakhine State, Myanmar military forces reportedly suffering setbacks in fighting around Sittwe and Ngapyi Island carried out airstrikes against residential villages in Pauktaw Township, away from the immediate conflict zone.

At approximately 6 a.m. on October 24, a military Y-12 aircraft bombed Thawin Chaung and Awa Kan villages.

At least nine civilians were injured, including seven residents of Thawin Chaung and two from Awa Kan.

The two villages are located approximately four miles from Ngapyi Island, where fighting is ongoing. They are home to both local residents and internally displaced people.

The previous morning, October 23, a military Y-12 aircraft reportedly dropped two bombs on Sittwe, killing nine civilians and injuring 16 others.

According to figures cited in the reports, military airstrikes across Rakhine State killed 106 civilians and injured at least 186 others between September 4 and October 24.

Intense Fighting Along Myeik–Dawei Road; Displaced Civilian Killed in Drone Attack in Southern Myawaddy

m.CDM | October 24, 2026

Intense fighting has erupted between Myanmar military forces and resistance troops along the Myeik–Dawei road in Thayetchaung Township, Tanintharyi Region, with the military conducting airstrikes, according to local residents.

The clashes intensified around midday on October 24.

Residents reported that military forces, suffering battlefield losses, launched repeated airstrikes on Takhuntaing (Old Village), Bote Taung, Kamyaing, and Thein Kone villages.

Civilian casualties from the bombings have not yet been confirmed.

Communication networks have also been disrupted, forcing entire village populations to flee to safer locations.

Meanwhile, renewed fighting has been reported between military forces and Karen National Union (KNU) allied troops near Min Let Pan and Phalu villages, south of Myawaddy in Karen State.

According to local sources, military forces redirected their offensive toward Phalu and Min Let Pan after failing to advance toward Thaebyu Chaung village.

On the night of October 21, a military drone reportedly bombed Phalu Gyi village, killing a displaced civilian in their forties who had remained behind to look after a house. Another person was injured.

On the night of October 23, four artillery shells from fighting along the Myanmar border reportedly landed and exploded in Mae Kok Kin village in Thailand’s Mae Sot district.

One woman sustained minor injuries, and several houses were damaged.

Thai military authorities subsequently increased security deployments along the border.

Military aircraft and drones reportedly continue to fly over Min Let Pan and Phalu, preventing displaced residents from returning home.

At the same time, displaced people in temporary shelters are facing growing difficulties because of declining humanitarian assistance.

Brotherhood Eagle Guerrilla Force Says Internal Military Intelligence Helped Capture Colonel Zaw Myo Tint

m.CDM | October 24, 2026

The Brotherhood Eagle Guerrilla Force says information supplied from within Myanmar’s military helped resistance fighters capture Colonel Zaw Myo Tint, deputy operations commander of Armored Battalion 72.

According to the group, Colonel Zaw Myo Tint had traveled to inspect allegations of corruption involving the commander and subordinate personnel of Ohn Taw Artillery Battalion 6005.

The allegations concerned the operation of unauthorized checkpoints and the collection of payments from travelers.

While traveling toward Light Infantry Division 33 in Sagaing, the colonel was captured by resistance forces near the Kan Ta Lu military checkpoint in Sagaing Township.

The guerrilla group reported seizing an MA-5 MK II 9mm pistol, two magazines, a license, an ATM card, a mobile phone, and a military identification card.

The group said preparations were underway to transfer the captured officer to the relevant authorities.

However, on October 19, Myanmar military forces reportedly deployed infantry columns into several villages in Sagaing Township and provided air support.

According to the Brotherhood Eagle Guerrilla Force, the military operations created a chaotic situation on the ground.

During this period, Colonel Zaw Myo Tint allegedly attempted to seize a weapon from resistance fighters and escape.

The group said resistance fighters opened fire while attempting to prevent his escape, killing him at the scene.

Following the incident, military columns reportedly continued operating throughout Sagaing Township.

Residents have been advised to exercise caution when traveling and remain alert to military activity.

<ol start="5" immediate and unconditional release of his mother and all political prisoners.

His appeal followed his first telephone conversation with Aung San Suu Kyi in more than five years.

The call lasted approximately 20 minutes.

Aris described hearing his mother’s voice again after so many years as deeply meaningful, but emphasized that her circumstances remain unchanged.

He said she continues to live under guard, surrounded by high walls, and remains cut off from the outside world.

According to Aris, she has no access to television, radio, or newspapers and is not permitted to receive outside visitors.

He also said his mother does not know her precise location.

Although the telephone conversation marked a significant personal moment for the family, Aris stressed that no assurances have been provided regarding regular communication or independent medical examinations and treatment.

He thanked everyone who helped make the telephone conversation possible and those who have continued supporting his mother.

Aris urged the public to participate in the “FREE HER” campaign and continue demanding the immediate and unconditional release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners.

Six Young People Missing Amid Forced Military Recruitment in Yangon; More Than 20 Detained in
