She was reportedly arrested the following day.

The report notes continuing public concern over robberies, killings and other violent crimes in Yangon.

More Than 70 Men Reportedly Detained in Yangon

Rangoon Scout Network reported that more than 70 men were detained across Yangon between late August and the first week of September.

The group said arrests are now taking place even during daylight hours and that families are sometimes being asked to pay between 4 million and more than 10 million kyat for release.

Most of those detained were reportedly aged between 20 and 35, though teenagers and men over 40 were also among those taken.

On September 6, seven young men waiting at a bus stop in North Okkalapa were reportedly beaten and detained.
