Burmese in San Francisco bay area to hold Burmese literary talk

 

The event was organized and coordinated with Burmese grass-root activists group called BADA (Burmese American Democratic Alliance) and Burmese news group at the bay, MoeMaKa News & Media, together with variety of Burmese community associations from all diverse social, religion and ethnic background.

As it was organized as community based event, it will be inviting and welcoming not only individual donor but also groups and organizations to sponsor collectively to make this literary event a success. The dinner ticket will be sold as 15 US$ as minimums donation ticket and if the interested party would like to donate 100 US$ and above, MoeMaKa news group would be giving away 2 books published by them as gift.

The two books that they offered were selection of Burmese articles written by two most prominent journalists from Burma, one is late Kye Mon U Thaung (Aung Bala), Burmese journalist in exile, recently passed away in April 2008 and the other one is U Win Tin, Burmese journalist inside Burma who recently released from jail by the Burmese regime after 19 years in prison.

MoeMaKa told that these 2 books also contained with the articles written by the visiting writers for this literary event so that their signatures could be able to be requested on these books as souvenir of the event and also from the writers.
