My Life Will Go On (33)

In my literary life, in 2008, my translated book ‘Alice in Wonderland’ in Burmese was awarded from Tun Foundation for the Children Literary Genre. At that time, I created a blog and posted my articles in Burmese as juniorwin. Still at the time, I had no intention to write in English. I dare not to write. My mother always encouraged me to write in English like my grandmother. That’s why I created a blog; juniorwin-english at the blogger.com, but I did not post a line there so far.

In 2011, because of my mother’s encouragement, I started to write in English in this blog, which was created since 2008. After a year, my twin brother, Maung Yit, the editor of Moemaka.com (eng.moemaka.net) published the collection of my articles in English as ebook.

(I was happy to see my ebooks altogether on pub in the Amazon Kindle bookshelf.)

In 2015, to mark the 100th Anniversary of my grandparents U Khin Maung Latt (Chief editor of the Working People’s Daily (1963-68), and Khin Myo Chit (writer of Colourful Burma (1976)), I wrote ‘A Memory of My Grandparents’, and it appeared on time. Special thanks to my mother who always helped me during my writing, my father gave me his thoughts, and advice, and my twin brother, for his drawings. I believed the book ‘A Memory of My Grandparents’ would never come out without their help.

Their 100th Anniversary held in the 9th May of 2015 at Pyay-Yeik-Tha house, Rangoon. On that day, ‘A Memory of My Grandparents’ books were given as present to all the audiences who attended the 100th Anniversary ceremony. Tun Foundation Commitee announced the award winning books for 2015 today – 14th January 2017. Among those winning books, ‘A Memory of My Grandparents’ in the Biography (English) genre. We all sincerely thanked to the Tun Foundation Committee, and will be very proud to receive the award.

Life was mixed with woe, and joy. But woe and unhappiness were more in life. My mother’s health weakened, and I did not notice her time was approaching. She was in the hospital for 2 weeks, and returned home. I did all the duties of not only as a daughter but also all the housework as mother do. I could not cook well, but she enjoyed my cooking until her last day. After 3 weeks at home, she rest in peace in the 26th of March 2017 in the cause of heart failure. She left me in this unhappy world. Mother, you will never know no one in the world can love, and care me half so much as you do. For her wish, I continued to write in English as mush as I could my best.

(I was cooking by the Albert Einstein’s method as soft-boiling an egg at the same time as I was cooking my soup, so I could get two meals and only have to wash one pot.)
