The City of San Francisco Passed Burma Resolution with Unanimous Consent

Honoring the 20th anniversary of the 1990 election in Burma, the city of San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously passed the Burma resolution  at the meeting on May 11 calling the US government to denounce the Burma’s military regime’s 2010 election. The city also recognizes the Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as the rightful leader of Burma and declares May 27, 2010 as the Burma Democracy Day — the day that 1990 election was held.
